Between the perfectly prepared seafood and the congenial staff, this is a place to visit if you are staying at one of those all inclusive resorts because the meals and drinks are very affordable. They also offer fishing with a 'you hook em' we cook em' special to have your fish prepared for you. A local favorite because of all... More

This place has been here forever it seems like. It does take awhile for your food to arrive, but who cares. They only take cash so be prepared. The locals eat here during their lunch or after work. Each time we went, there were a ton of local hotel workers, taxi drivers etc as well as us tourists. Very friendly... More

This restaurant has a very limited menu! If you are looking for variety this is not the place for you. The only problem is the lousy exchange rate if you pay in US dollars the meal cost on average $10 more on a $35 bill. The current exchange rate is nearly 19 pesos to the dollar but the restaurant's exchange... More

A bunch of us from Secrets Akumal wandered down to a tiny little tourist spot behind a dive shop, across from some Mexican craft stores and discovered an open air local watering hole with fresh seafood. La Cueva del Pescador. An EXTREMELY casual, local joint. We ordered pitchers of margaritas, ceviche and seafood platters for 2. A very good choice.... More

We were recommend this restaurant by the tour guide at our hotel in Akumal Bay and were not disappointed. We checked out the menu one afternoon, the restaurant was packed out so we returned that evening. We enjoyed chips and a fresh, spicy salsa, whole fresh fish of the day with home made coleslaw, king prawns with fries and a... More

This is a small restaurant proximal to Akumal bay. My husband and I had a scrumptious dinner if seafood here. It is an outdoor restaurant, so it may be hot during the day. At night, it is cool.but the mosquitoes will.get you. Don't forget to spray on mosquito repellent prior to eating here

I have been to numerous places to eat and traveled to Mexico multiple times each year and have yet to find a worse place than here. Service is extremely slow, food is bland, and order of serving is disorganized. If I could give 0 stars I would period.

We had lunch two days in a row and dinner the second. We ran out of cash to pay for the second lunch and our waiter simply told us to come back later to pay, which we did. Amazing cerviches, shrimp tacos, fish tacos, kebabs and guacamole. Get a shot of the "traditional" tequila; very smooth. Very fair prices.
