The food at el ultimo maya was great as well as the dog there was very friendly. The service was also very good. The owner is super friendly and nice. If you're visiting akumal, this place is an essential place to go.

We ate hear on our last night in Akumal and it was one of our best meals. We had some dishes that we hadn't had anywhere else- the ribs and a grilled fish with a delicious green sauce. The tickin xic and guacamole were the best we had in the Yucatan. The prices were very reasonable especially for the quality.... More

This is a very nice alternative to the beach places, to get a feel of the town. The owner/chef is fantastic, makes everybody feel really welcome. Prices are not standard Mexican, but then, nothing is in the area, except maybe a few groceries and the laundry service at the foot of the bridge on the town side (awesome ladies!). The... More

Very good food across the highway from the beach. Owner is terrific and an extremely excellent chef. Food is fresh, different and worth the walk across the bridge.

This is a small, local restaurant in "the real" Akumal (so no ocean views), but it makes up for that with a simple but delicious choice of tacos and other typical Mexican dishes. May be a good place to do takeout to supplement the relatively limited food options in the Akumal area.

One reason we travel Mexico is because we love the food and hospitable local people. This quaint restaurant is in the small town of Akumal, an easy 15 min walk from the tourist/beach area, and was well worth the walk. We both enjoyed fish dishes which were delicious, but the menu has many other choices. Our server was attentive &... More

Small local place with great food. The coconut shrimp was delicious. Everything is cooked from scratch. I will visit again.

The owner Alfredo is one of the kindest person you will ever meet, he's very thoughtful, and passionate about his restaurant. The food is fantastic at a very affordable price, it's so much a better deal than the rest of the restaurants in Akumal, and very healthy. 👌🏽

Thank Rafael D
