Had the pollo, al pastor, and carne asada tacos. They were all great. Service super friendly, although English language skills v limited. Tacos come with a large selection of sauces and with pico.
Not necessarily COVID safe though.
This place has no airs and graces about it - don't expect fine dining. What you can expect is a warm family environment, fantastic food (the guac is incredible), and incredible value for money. The portion sizes will leave you full and it is honestly...like spending an evening inside a Mexican families kitchen- and you are the honour guest for the day. Genuinely lovely people. Its basic, its down to earth and it is brilliant - highly reccomened if you are in the area, you will not be disappointed.
Also have their tequila whilst you are there, they only have one and it was the best we have had after 2 1/2 weeks in mexico (it didn't burn whilst going down put that way).More
Our 8 person group showed up looking for food. They sized us up, offered a fair price ($500 Pesos) and said they’d just bring out platters of food for us to make all our own tacos. They food was great and they had a variety...of toppings to make our own toppings. As they noticed our tortillas or any one item (e.g. rice) were getting low, they showed up with refills without being asked. They were super kind and my kids have all asked to go back.More
This is one of our favorite places to eat in the pueblo. We get three meat platter for tacos. The smoke from the grill fills the seating area with the aroma from the meat. Come hungry as the plate is huge, and the tortillas plentiful.
Eat here. The hospitality we experienced was as if we had been to someone's home for lunch.
We got into town at an odd hour around 3 p.m. and stopped at Akumal pueblo on the way to Bahia Principe. We had the place all to...ourselves. Didn't really see a menu, so we ordered the family style bbq, which came with chicken and pork ribs, rice, flour tortillas and condiments. The hot sauce was very spicy, just a couple of drops will do. Very good salsa verde. The music made the experience even more fun.More
Excellent pollo asado served with a smile. Affordable, delicious grilled meats and blazing hot salsa picante. Very small locals place. We did take out for a lazy evening at our condo. One of the best meals we had in 2 weeks.
