Idyllic and romantic spot to grab dinner while watching the sunset. The margarita's were huge, flavorful, and strong. The seafood selection is plentiful and included in a wide selection of authentic Mexican dishes. My husband got the shrimp diablo, which was a little sweeter than...he was expecting, but still spicy. I got the crab enchiladas which were very good. The staff was so friendly and fun to talk to. Can't wait to be back soon.More

We have known Hector and Patti since there days on the beach in Punta Mita. When they built their new restaurant on the hill a few years ago, half way between La Cruz de Huanacaxtle and Punta de Mita, we followed them there. They had...a reputation for great fish dishes and fabulous Margaritas. Now, years later you can find us there once a week. It's one of your favorite kitchens on the north coast of Bahia de Banderas. Service is always top notch, the fresh fish is always excellent and the Margaritas are some of the best on the Bay. And there prices are very competitive with the best restaurants in Punts de Mita.More

Actually they are now Margaritas on the Hill
The are located on the mountain side half way between La Cruz and Punta Mita on the highway. We had the best shellfish dinner in a long time there. The lobster was cooked perfectly, almost melted in...your mouth, and those San Blas shrimp were giants. Hector, Paty and the staff were great hosts as always. We have eaten many times over the past few years and they never disappointMore

We wanted excellent food, a sunset view and a romantic setting for Valentine’s Day dinner. We decided to go to Margarita’s on the Hill and truly couldn’t have picked a better place.
Upon our arrival, we were warmly welcomed by Hector who escorted us up...into the treehouse setting. The restaurant is done so beautifully and the view of the mountains, the ocean, and the sunset is magnificent. Our night got even better when we were greeted at our table by Patricia. She took care of us all night from great food recommendations to a cheers with her over some great conversation by dinner’s end.
The sashimi starter is a must order (see picture). Our entrees of the coconut shrimp and seafood pasta were equally as delicious as were the margaritas!
The night was further enhanced by a very talented guitarist and singer who periodically played enjoyable music at the table side.
Margaritas on the Hill is a MUST VISIT when in Punta de Mita.More

Visited one of our favorite places in the area having visited 4 or 5 times in the past few years. As usual, Hector was a most gracious and friendly host. The food very good with a particular shoutout to the ceviche (best we’ve ever had)....Our main courses (coconut shrimp) very good (but not gourmet......not that we were expecting gourmet). If that was all, I would have rated it 5 stars. However, throughout the entire meal there was a singer singing so loudly we could not comfortably talk among the four of us. We asked twice for him to turn the volume down but to no avail. Bottom line, while we enjoy the place, the food and service before going again, we will ask if the singer is performing and if so, will go elsewhere.More

If you want to experience some warm Mexican hospitality, Margaritas on the Hill is where you need to go. Hector does everything right. We have been a few times over the years and here is how I recommend you plan a dinner visit:
1- it’s...casual but you could dress up if you want some pictures. If the sunset is good, there is a great vista for this.
2- have your concierge (that’s easiest) make your reservation for 5:30-ish (winter months) for sunset.
3 arrive and have an incredible cocktail— highly recommend passion fruit margarita and pina coladas. Enjoy the sunset.
4 eat some great seafood. Salsas offered before dinner are delish.
5 bring tip money for the roaming guitarist to play a song for your table. Have one in mind before hand. Everyone does it.
6 stay a bit after dinner and enjoy the fun 80’s songs you haven’t heard in a while that Hector will play and perhaps he will get the disco ball rolling.
7 don’t worry about having too much to drink. Hector will line up a very reasonable and very comfortable transfer back to your hotel. Literally this was the best transfer we had this 10 day trip. I would hire the guy privately if I could.
This family owned business makes you feel at home. Hector sees you off in a manner like he expects to see you next week too. As if you are there all the time. We just love this place.More
