Fantastic food, fantastic service, such a cool place (a cave). If yo visit the runis (pyramid) here, you must go to this restaurant. Bring your camera. It is not cheap, so be aware. My GF and I paid about $1150 pesos ($53 US) but so...worth it.More
This restaurant has it all. EXCELLENT food, EXCELLENT service, and EXCELLENT setting. I’ve been to many places world wide that also rate 10 out of 10 but rarely have they been 10/10 on those 3 points. I had a chicken dish wrapped in banana (?)...leaf, and their signature cocktails were to die for. If/when I win the lottery, I will fly back just to have lunch and dinner there again. This place is amazing. MUCHAS GRACIAS!!!!! 👏👏👏👏👏🥰🥰🥰🥰More
I read the mixed reviews, I know it’s a tourist type restaurant but it turned out to be a great restaurant. When vacationing we usually don’t go to tourist type restaurants but this one exceeded our expectations.
After visiting the pyramids we walked over to...this place which isn’t that far away from them. This place has been around for a long time. There’s lots of stairs you need to go down to get to the seating area, handicapped accessible isn’t possible but this is Mexico after all and if you’ve ever been to Mexico you know there’s no such thing as handicap assessable anywhere.
We arrived about 4 PM, it wasn’t too crowded we were seated right away. English is limited with the servers but like I said this is Mexico so.... We ordered just appetizers being not that hungry. I had the guacamole with the Chicharrón’s which was excellent, we also ordered an appetizer of assorted tacos and my wife had some corn chowder soup. Everything was really great, excellent tasting and our server was great. There’s also a decent selection of beers to choose from too. After our meal there’s a candle on the table and our server explained that you light it and go place it somewhere in the cave. We did that just like she said and it was pretty cool. Prices are a little on the high side for dinners but the appetizers and beers were very reasonable.
We had a really great time here being that it is touristy but still it was really fun and we enjoyed our time spent here. There’s a small gift shop and bathrooms outside the cave. If you’re visiting the pyramids and want to experience a really unique and very good restaurant I recommend this place.More
Our Mexican guide took us there for lunch. Great 'cave' experience...what a location. Food was very great, the service was excellent. My MUST try was the Escamoles. Don't think of it as ant larvae but as Insect Caviar and priced accordingly but absolutely delicious. A...unique experience...More
Very enjoyable lunch spent in the cavern of this most unusual restaurant.
The staff were very friendly and polite.
The food was of a very nice quality.
We ordered tacos, fajitas and tortilla soup and there were all very good.
The unique surroundings make this...place very lovely. I have visited this place several times and will be back.
A nice experience.More
Friends who had come here said we just had to try it out, so we came for a late lunch after hiking Teotihuacan. It's a bit of a hike from there, outside Gate 5. It wasn't very busy when we arrived, but started to fill...up more. Service was good, and so was the food: G's rib eye was a touch more well-done than he usually likes, but tender and tasty with nice roasted onions etc. And my chicken in adobo was wonderful, with little cups of rice and black beans.
We didn't participate in their "light a candle to our god" tradition. Even if we had been interested, we'd climbed enough stairs for one day, and still had to climb up to get out of the cave. It's not a "must see", but if you're going to see the pyramids it's an interesting, if touristy, place with good food in a nice garden.More
The place is amazing, the vibe is fun and casual, the menu is interesting (not too many options for vegetarians, but enough to snack on), and the service is excellent. Its definitely worth a stop, but not something that is completely unmissable.
We heard about this reasturant few years ago we were able to go this year we ate there twice because it was good very unique place excellent food excellent service excellent place to go if we’re in the area we would love to go back
Seeing the restaurant is impressive. However, the food is bland, lacks any attention, and is just gross. The waiters could care less and are MIA. Enjoy the photos, but don't waste any time visiting this place.

We took an Uber to the pyramids, paid the entrance fee $75 Mexican pesos ($4 dollars per person), and then paid a tour guy there $1,200 Mexican pesos for a 3 hour tour. We walked to La Gruta after we finished at the pyramids, then we took an Uber back to town. It was way cheaper to do it that way for us. There were 3 of us, and we paid about $200 dollars for everything. It was great!
