Great New Location

La Una has moved into new digs and offers a secluded, quiet new patio in the back. Tables are protected from the sun with large umbrellas. Service as usual is smart and attentive. We particularly enjoyed the quiet serenity with lovely classical music in the background. We came for brunch and... read more

The restaurant is just a stone's throw from the Plaza in Ajijic and boasts a courtyard seating area abounding with flowers and plants, which makes for a relaxing meal. Inside there are 2 other seating areas and a bar with a fireplace. I had a huevos rancheros (rather bitter tasting and overly salted) and a friend had salmon, which she... More

The staff remembered us. we had a lovely lunch early in the week: salmon (very very good) with salad and freshly prepared vegetables. Our waiter told us about the Sunday brunch so we came back. EXCELLENT. Custom made egg dishes like eggs benedict but also a big buffet with Mexican and American specialties. Fresh fruit, pastries plus several Mexican egg... More

The evening was chilly, so they lit the fireplace and seated us right next to it which added just another layer of friendly accommodation by this friendly staff. I've enjoyed breakfast here once and dinner twice and in each of my visits, it's been a wonderful experience. The food is prepared with a creative twist on traditional dishes and the... More

Close to our hotel, good prices, good food. They were very keen to be sure we were happy. They sell their own (really good) raspberry jam too

Had dinner there Christmas Eve. Three choices on the menu. We had steak. Tasteless, smothered in gravy. A few aspargus, some small and mushy. Mashed potatoes. We had a different red wine other than what was offered in the set price. Instead of charging us the difference in price, we were charged full price for a ordinary Merlot. The flan was... More

Even though we live in Ajijic, this is our first time dining at La Una. It won't be our last. We are here for brunch and have not been disappointed. We sat on the patio and were even able to bring our 2 small dogs. It is Christmas Eve and there is soft music playing on the clean, neat patio.... More

I ordered the tuna and it was way overcooked. Very dry. I needed a lot of the accompanying fruit salsa to be able to eat it. Very nice setting and attentive service. I probably wouldn't eat here again as the tuna was the only thing I would order and it was poorly executed.

I have taken my family twice for the Sunday buffet and I'll tell you, you cant find a better buffet anywhere. This is a gourmet buffet with typical food of Mexico. Also, you can order from the menu for the same reasonable price. A real treat everyone must try.
