"Spectacular" is a word I don´t use loosely and definitely not often. This place deserves it indeed.
It was a noon on a Sunday a couple of weeks ago. My sister, my brother-in-law (BIL), my nephews and I were up for an advenure and decided...More
Had dinner here tonight Friday, 1 March 2019. As always, everything was perfect. As a starter, our water brought out water and a tray with sliced soft breadsticks and I think, softened goat cheese and pesto for dipping.
My guest had a Jamaica Margarita and...More
Came here with some friends from the Pacific NW, and we all left happy. We were there for a lunch. One of us was vegetarian and she enjoyed the appetizer and the jaimaca taco plate and some fresh bread and iced tea. My other friend...More
Busy but table can be yours for the night. Decor is fun and interesting - adults and children were entertained during the wait.
As for the wait time, we thought it was usual for a higher end restaurant. Our drinks were served immediately, along with...More
This is a relaxed restaurant with great food, remarks on the 84 hour meat, it's really good. Besides this the octopus was also delicious, pasta is very good. The wait was too long, it would be nice to have you served while waiting, drinks would...More
We were looking for an excuse to try out our new Global Entry cards, so drove from Carlsbad, CA to have lunch at Lugar. We were expecting some typical Mexican fare, which would have been fine. As it ended up, we were blown away at...More
When a restaurant retains their number-1 spot in TripAdvisor, you naturally ask yourself if it's deserved or not. My wife and I were up there with family, visiting a few of the Tecate highlights, and lunch was on the list of yet-undecided.
We decided on...More
Love it all, The food is awesome (especially the salads Pulpo and Pizza), the decorations are always very dynamic creative and resourceful, the service very friendly. A great place to savor a meal, plus more....
Traveling with my buddy, Sal Fish, who has as well as I eaten from one end of Baja to the other found this one of the best lunches ever on the peninsula. Great atmosphere, the lady who owns it was tops, and the food over...More

The walk is about 3 miles west, but you can ask a taxi to take you and ask them how much it will cost before you get into the taxi. Should not be more than $5 dollars plus tip. Only 5 - 10 minutes, depending on traffic from downtown Tecate. Much better place to eat is only about 4 to 5 blocks west from downtown, place called "Amores" much tastier and service is great. I haven't put my review yet, but I've been there 4 or 5 times in the past two months and loved it.
Past week my wife went to "El lugar de Nos" for a small concert and some tables waited almost 3 hours to get their food, my wife waited 90 minutes. She was very disappointed, food and service has dropped very much. Very bad management, they don't know how to manage their staff and cooking staff. Good luck, hope you have a better experience, don't expect much change in a week. Place is going downhill if owers don't care for customers.
