Not sure what all the hoopla is about. This is an average fish and chips restaurant, in below average surroundings (I believe I can accurately say there has been zero update to the decor since they opened), with good service. The food is decent, but really nothing special. The restaurant is in need of a complete update. It's one thing... More

All you can eat haddock and fries $15.99 I opted for the halibut at two dollars more. Nothing special about the fish batter, fries were alright and the coleslaw was dreadful. People line up for this place but I disappointed. Red Lobster makes a much better fish and chips plus you receive a salad and the cheese buns.Far superior than the... More

After a day at the beach with the family, we had a hankering for some good old-fashioned Fish and Chips. On the way into town, we noticed the restaurant with a sign claiming to have some of the best Fish & Chips in Canada as voted by Canadian Living Magazine. Must be good right? Wrong. If those are the best... More

This was our first family visit to the Lord Elgin. There was a long wait as it was all you could eat fish and chips. Let me tell you it was worth the wait! I understand why they are so popular. I have had fish and chips at many locations and this was by far the best fish and chip... More

We got to the restaurant on a Sunday night at 5:30pm and there was already a huge lineup. We were told we had to wait about 30 minutes for our table. They gave us a buzzer so my husband and kids waited at the parking lot while I went shopping at Walmart. Table was ready after 25 minutes so that... More

Same od atmosphere as when first built 30 years ago, Good fish and chips but the fish portions keep getting smaller.

We live in Port Elgin at the beach so we usually choose to order from the on-line menu and pick it up. We have a lot of visitors in the summer so we order out for a break. This past week we ordered 2 Halibut dinners and 2 specials, cod cakes and fries. Both were very generous portions and fed... More

Got to the restaurant for an early supper. Good thing, 25 minutes later and the place was jammed packed. Even though a flood of people came in the door, the food came fast and the service was very good. We had the all you can eat fish, and they are not stingy on the portions. Nice. The fries were good... More

We have ate at Lord Elgins many times and recommend it to anyone. All you can eat haddock is a big hit. They have different kinds of fish and also chicken. Staff is efficient, friendly. What are you waiting for....head to Lord Elgin's Fish & Chips in Port Elgin.

We both had the cod & chips.....lightly battered and cooked perfectly. The fresh cut fries were exactly what we wanted. Service was good.....the place was very busy, but they did not rush us.....all of the waitstaff were helpful and friendly. Definitely eat here again.
