I'm ok with a restaurant that has a sign at the door that says "Please wait to be seated" but to be totally ignored by the staff for almost 15 minutes is ridiculous. Please, just acknowledge that you know we are there. And then to get an angry stare down by one of the waitresses when I coughed, well that... More

We had breakfast here during the off season (February) so it was nice and quiet - only one other table at 9:00. Very, very clean and cozy with all the quilts on the wall. Very friendly staff, good service and quite reasonable. Food was good but not great.

Certainly don’t understand what others see about this place for breakfast! I guess they just don’t venture out too far to try other fantastic places for breakfast. One order was a cheddar cheese omelette (on the cold side) with 2 slices of toast, I have never seen such a flat omelette; it was even flatter than a super thin pancake;... More

Outstanding little breakfast place. Food was great in quality, quality and price. Service was exceptional as well. Would I go back? For sure.

We wake up at the Colonial then enjoy a great breakfast at Sun Rise Cafe, what a great way to start the day. Always fresh and tasty i love the farmers sasage and the silver dollar pancakes so good. Staff always welcomes us with a big smile and quick to get you a coffee and take your order. Food always... More

The place was hyped to us by locals and just didn't meet expectations. I had the omelet which was OK but the cheddar they used in it wasn't great. Just normal diner food as far as I can tell.

even of you are not a guest in the adjacent motel, you can go there to have a great breakfast. Lots of options, friendly service, and the price is right.

We like to go there for breakfast, is really good, and a friendly atmosphere. Is annexed to Colonial Motel, but you don't need to be a guest at the motel to enjoy the food.

This is our favourite place for breakfast in Port Elgin. You need to get here early or after the morning rush from 8:00 to 9:00 or you will be waiting in line for a table. The coffee is always fresh, hot and full bodied. I particularly like the garlic sausage with the regular breakfast of eggs and home-fries. What I... More

Part of Colonial Motel. Best breakfast in Port Elgin. Clean, food tastes great, basics for breakfast and lunch. Had steak & eggs with home fries & rye plus coffee, all perfect. Nice staff. There are beautiful quilts for sale and the adjacent motel has antiques. My favorite breakfast place in either Port Elgin or Southampton.
