I like the all you can eat sushi but ended up eating too much! I liked everything I had! It's nice to try different things and the pepper beef was really good!

The Makimono was a great place to celebrate my sons' birthday. The decorum was modern and the place was clean. You're greeted warmly, informed of the wait time and shown to a comfort seating arrangement. The servers were polite and helpful. It was easy to order your food on the tablets provided. Each item had a picture showing what it... More

I had been to Makimono about two years ago, and it was 'OK', which was probably why I waited two years to return. Big mistake! This time our All-You-Can-Eat meal was probably some of the best and freshest sashimi and tempura I have had! Definitely the very best Eel Sushi ever. Service was very fast and attentive, and unlike many... More

We have been here for lunch several times and each time it seems to go down hill little by little. Initially it had cloth tablecloths, then went to paper ones, and the last time there was no covering. The presentation of the food has deteriorated, although the quality has remained quite acceptable, except for the vegetable tempura which is served... More

Been here a few times over the past 2 months. The staff are rude, the food is sub par and they repeatedly drop items off at the wrong table. Today our plates were dirty and they refused to take my VISA debit card, after admitting their machines will accept them, they just want cash. Well guess what? Their ATM wasn't... More

Started coming here shortly after they opened and loved it. Sadly the quality of the food declined. Service fell to all time lows, I refused to return. Well my wife and I tried it once again several month ago and I am pleased to say they have done a complete turn around. The food is great as good or better... More

Makimono is what you would expect, a very average Japanese restaurant. I don't like sushi, so I ordered the General Tao chicken, which was a little fatty, but decent. Paul Wong's is the best Asian restaurant in Pickering, much better than Makimono, and offering Chinese takes on Japanese dishes (such as Teriyaki), and so much better than Makimono.

The service is very good. Food is mediocre for my taste, I have had japanese in different places and this doesn't seem to stand out. Sashimi is so tiny and for an eat all you can restaurant, one sashimi per order is ridiculous. The photos on the tablet menu when ordering and sending the order electronically is something I have... Highly recommend avoiding this location as the servers are rude and watch and comment if you order several dishes to try (management must have asked them to police people's orders). Quality is not as good as other locations. Avoid at all cost.
