Christian and Reiner are gentlemen of the old school...perfect hosts, chefs, and caregivers. We felt pampered in every way. We loved staying in the Airstream trailer, and the delicious café from the Nespresso machine in the space. Dinner was superb, and we loved Reiner's dessert of course! As innkeepers ourselves, we found every detail to be thoughtful and meticulous. We... More

A very charming restaurant off the beaten path, about half way between Tobermory and Lion's Head. The food and service were excellent, and the window seats have a lovely view of Georgian Bay. Call ahead for reservations: when I visited, they were only serving dinner, and there was only one seating (at 6pm). The menu included locally sourced whitefish and... More

It is a relief to know that such a place and atmosphere exists in the frenzy of our lives. Such a help to come to our senses again. Been several times and love staying in the cabin next to the restaurant. And it is fun.

This hidden gem is located in Dyers Bay about 10 km off highway 6 south of Tobermory. It is easy to find, it is the yellow house almost directly across from the dock on the main road as soon as you enter Dyers Bay. It has wonderful lake front views over looking Dyers Bay on Georgian Bay from any table... More

This restaurant is a little gem on the Bruce Peninsula. The food and wine were excellent, service was first rate and the view was stunning. The cottage offered a nice quiet getaway but still came with all the amenities required. We booked reservations in the restaurant for both of the nights we were there and we were glad we did.... Wonderful interesting meal, with excellent host! Huge menus often mean mediocre food - this small menu meant the chef could concentrate on providing truly excellent flavours from local foods cooked to perfection. So glad we passed by this beautiful spot and had a lovely evening!

If you are making your way to the Bruce's Peninsulla, don't forget to make a stop in Dyer's Bay for dinner at the Applewood Inn for the traditional Georgian Bay Whitefish. Prepared to perfection, it is no doubt the best that the Peninsula offers. Enjoy with an organic greens salad and a glass of their house Savignon Blanc. All for... More

Why bother cooking at the cottage when you can make a reservation, make sure you do, and take a stroll - if you are in Dyer's Bay- and be pampered to a great European cuisine experience. Although the menu is limited, every dish is excellent and they make true honor to the idea of Slow Food, take your time, stare... More

The Applewood Inn Restaurant in Dyer's Bay, on the shores of Georgian Bay, is truly a wonderful night out. Break away from the crowds and enjoy the amazing food, the moon rising over Georgian Bay, and Christian's warm and friendly hospitality. Great attention is given to this lovely little restaurant, the food is locally sourced and oh so flavourful! Well... More
