We got a take out lunch here, so we could picnic in the lovely nearby provincial park. Everything was delicious. Our friends from Cape Breton say Charlene's is the best seafood chowder in the world and it is certainly right up there!

We popped in just as they were about to close. We were welcomed in and fed a delicious and hearty bowl of chowder.

We had take-out on a very hot day. We pre-ordered and our dinner was ready on time. Staff very accommodating with the little extras that we asked for. Food was hot, good size serving and was delicious

Where I had seen it on "Gotta Ear Here" we decided to stop there on our visit to Cape Breton. We found a table when we arrived & soon received the menu & our drinks. Shortly after the waitress took our order for our chowders & then we waited & waited. It was quite busy there I must say but... More

Two couples stopped for seafood chowder and one had chicken penne pasta. The seafood chowder was so delicious I could have licked the bowl. The tea biscuits were made perfectly. The pasta dish was filled with green, red and yellow peppers (also comes with mushrooms which we did not want.) also full of chicken and lots of pasta. We all... More

First off it isn't signposted enough, found it online and gps'd it. Minor flaw. The restaurant has a charming informal family run feel to it and is warm and inviting. The service is friendly and very accommodating too. They have good gluten free options and also have other gf things that aren't on the menu. ( Wanted gf pasta -... More

The fish chowder is probably the best I've ever had in Cape Breton. Their chowder puts all others to shame!
