Friday night is pizza night and the only time The Kiwi Cafe is open in the evenings. We'd already eaten dinner but we left lots of room for coffee and desert. Be sure to do the same. Their baking is delicious.

Service wasn't the best but I didn't care as much after tasting the food. My salad was huge and amazing and the chowder was better than the best I've had anywhere else before. And the desserts, oh my goodness. Make sure to save some room. Quirky little place that's easy and casual and makes you feel like you belong there.

The Kiwi is a great spot for a quality meal, good price, excellent service and a very welcoming atmosphere. They have an outside deck which is great in summer and it is shaded from too much sun which is excellent.

The entire family was impressed with the food. My lobster omelette was amazing! There was a ton of lobster in it! The choices of how you would like it done were endless and used real cheeses in everything. Drinks were good.My mimosas were very nice and served in a proper glass. Service was pretty good. Menu was ok for kids.... More

This place was recommended by a friend. The decor is funky and the atmosphere is a mix of locals and tourists which is expected for places along the South Shore. I had the Thai Fish Cakes and my partner the Cobb Salad. The fish cakes were small but you got three of them, the Cobb Salad was the overall winner... More

This has been a favourite cafe of ours for years. Fantastic hot drinks and the food is delicious. When its busy its hard to get service so expect at least an hour wait. It took us twenty minutes siting on the deck before our waiter noticed us. I would recommend the cafe to anyone looking for a healthier alternative when... More

This little, unassuming cafe was packed on a chilly, rainy Sunday in July. The food was the best we've had in 6 days in Nova Scotia (accepting terrific B&B breakfasts). The chowder was creamy and the sandwich seemed to have whiffs of cimmamon in addition to the ingredients listed below. Very friendly, attentive service.

We popped into Chester on our road trip around Nova Scotia. What a treat. Lovely fresh sandwiches- lobster, chicken, BLT - and a vibrant atmosphere. Don't miss it if you want a delicious pit stop!

I've been there almost every day and love everything I've had. Two standouts: The lobster sandwich and the BLAT (BLT plus avocado). I added extra bacon and it was amazing.
