If you want seafood, this restaurant is the place to go. If you don't like seafood, they have grilled cheese sandwiches or BLT's. Somewhat pricey but not too bad for seafood. Diverse staff, most of them pleasant.

My husband and I went to Cheticamp for the day to celebrate my birthday and has dinner at this restaurant. I ordered the pan fried haddock and didn't enjoy my meal. The fish that I was served looked and tasted like cod not haddock. My husband ordered something different and didn't enjoy his meal either. Waitress wasn't overly friendly but... More

Hubby and I came here on recommendation from the owner of Alberts motel down the road. We were starved and tired after hiking all afternoon. I was thrilled to learn they had a gluten free menu and were serious and knowledgeable about it. The live music on Tuesday night was amazing - Fiddler - he was great. Service was excellent... More

Food is great and the music is better. The patrons are very friendly and speak both French and English. It is a large pub with plenty of room for all types of gatherings .

Had dinner here a week ago. Food and service were adequate. The cocktails are another story. They have a long list of cocktails listed under the headings of Regular and Premium. We ordered two different cocktails and made it clear to the server we wanted Regular. When the bill came, we were charged for Premium drinks. When we challenged this,... More

The menu is kind of typical for the area, maybe a bit more selection than the usual! I had the seafood chowder, my boyfriend had the fish and chips and we started off with the crab dip. All so good! The staff were super friendly, water was refilled, checked on a few times during the meal and then they bring... More

At random we stopped here and received a nice welcome and rapid service. We decided to split a dish and the waitress was very helpful. We came in just before a bus group so we lucked in. It is a fairly large establishment and we were impressed to see a server who used an electric wheelchair to deliver meals and... More

We had travelled all day and had a fairly late lunch, and we were looking for just dessert. We were told Le Gabriel had a dessert cart so that's where we headed. It was dinner time so we told the hostess we only wanted dessert and she welcomed us warmly. The dessert cart was brought around and we ordered dessert... More

I am a tour director and every time my tour stays 2 overnights in Chéticamp, I recommend this great restaurant. The food, atmosphere, staff and service is at the top. Super clean, super surroundings, super people, excellent food. If I was to rate this restaurant as 1 for poor and 10 for excellent, the rating I will put is 100.

We went there for lunch -- I went for the seafood chowder. While visiting Cape Breton for the Celtic Colours Festival I have had seafood chowder every day in various restaurants. We drove to Cheticamp on the day of the big storm. This was the best chowder during my visit to CB, although l still say I make a better chowder... More
