A couple of years ago, my wife and I had a lovely lunch at the Lynwood. I thought it unfortunate that we hadn't returned until now. That was the first disappointment. The second was that our return visit was not as pleasant. Service was slow. The staff were not attentive (specials were not mentioned; we had to ask twice for... More

Ate here in June 2016 and sat outdoors on their lovely balcony. This is a charming older place with very friendly staff. I had a Cesar salad which had a tasty dressing but included fresh MUSHROOMS which I have never seen a Cesar salad. The parmesan cheese was powder-like and not very appetizing. I ordered the panfried haddock and, being... More

Four of us had a delicious meal here Thursday night. Two of us had the lobster/mussel special; one had salmon; one had scallops. All were well prepared and presented. There is a decent selection of wines and beers, and a satisfying selection of desserts, from bread pudding to a Cape Breton sundae. Service was friendly and efficient.

We ended up having dinner here as there wasn't much else open in town that evening it seemed. The building had a beautiful old feel to it, although the dining area was very full and felt it. Our server was very attentive which was lovely and we had a nice enough meal. There was nothing super special about the food,... More

We stayed at the Lynwood Inn, so this was the most convenient place for us to have breakfast. The eggs benedict was especially good. We also ate dinner here twice. I had the stir fry with different sauces and meat. The Thai sauce was quite spicy. My husband had the turkey dinner one night and said it was the best... More

We visited this Inn during our visit to Baddeck. Unfortunately it was the last night of the season, but the staff were very friendly and even without a reservation we were seated quickly without queueing. The Restaurant was very busy, but we were served quickly and the food was excellent! and plentiful. In summer I suspect you would need to... More

The Lynwood Inn is in a very nice l.looking 1860s Victorian house, which contains two separate dining room areas on the ground floor, and operates both as an inn for overnight guests as well as the resturant. There is an adjacent modern hotel constructed and painted to look much like the original house.Furnishings in the two dining areas are delightful,... More

Attracted by the exterior, my wife and I tried the Lynwood Inn for dinner. I had the French onion soup and mussels. The soup was very salty and was inedible. The mussels were apparently re-heated in a microwave since some of them were cold and others warm.

Definitely the feel of fine dining. Small formal dining room. Often have live music. It was perfect for a get away from the crowds meal. Food was good. We did not stay at the Inn. Seemed like most diners did.

The wait staff seemed poorly trained and disorganized for the small size of the dining room. Chasing servers for water or clearing empty dishes should not be necessary for any diner. The food was mediocre and bland at best with a heavy emphasis on being OVERCOOKED. The steamed mussels had shrunk to half normal size and had lost the texture... More
