The food was up to par, the service was good, and the atmosphere was unbeatable due to the view from the dining room.

I don't understand all the good reviews for this restaurant. Maybe we ordered the wrong dishes. The Seafood Pescatore was only worth half of what was charged. It was a small plate of pasta with meager bits of seafood. The Seafood Platter was also overpriced for the quality and amount of food compared to other restaurants in the area. Best... More

Driving along the Cabot Trail taking in all the scenery and feeling out in the boonies we come upon the Lobster Galley Restaurant and stopped for dinner. Wise choice because the place was great. The menu is somewhat limited, but offered choices like Vegetarian Linguini, Cappacino, Clam Strip Platters, Lobster, Burgers, and more. My Wife chose the Vegetarian Linguini made... More

Classic, simple recipe, in a broth that is a great combo of garlic and white wine. Generous portion with 2 wedges of garlic. Foccacia garlic cheese bread lacked cheese and tasted more like garlic bread. Beautiful views

The food was prepared and presented to perfection. The view is breathtaking. The service genuinely warm. The prices are very reasonable for such a wonderful place to dine. If you only eat at one restaurant--make it this one. PS--I wish I had taken pictures of the salad and entrees--only thought of it when dessert arrived too pretty to dive into... More

I met Jeannie and Jack on a trip to Halifax and they invited me to the Lobster Galley when I was to be in Cape Breton the following month. They were so welcoming and hospitable I had to oblige. I couldn't be happier that I did. The lobster was delicious and my hosts and their staff made this US firefighter... More

I've read several of the reviews and am truly perplexed as I loved this place and I'm not sure I can eat fresh lobster anywhere else. We came back several times for the lobster and also enjoyed our server, Brenda, who was friendly and funny. Guests should remember it's not a city restaurant--it's a seaside fish diner. Also, they have... More

Pass on the seafood chowder, mostly old fish, no good pieces of shellfish, and watery. Haddock just Ok. Great view at start of Cabot Trail counter clockwise.

I recommended The Lobster Galley to some out of town guests for a lobster dinner. We had a fantastic meal and terrific service. While leaving the restaurant we met the owners and our good experience was over. Their bringing up the IRA and Irish slavery ended our good mood. The conversation just got worse after that. Bad form! I won't... More

After a long ride in the rain on my motorcycle down the Cabot Trail, wet and soaked I walked in the door to the open arms of the welcoming staff. They gave me an area to lay out all my wet gear and then seated me next to a nice heater to dry off. The food was fantastic and the... More
