Four of us went on a road trip to Advocate Harbour to specifically eat at The Wild Caraway Restaurant. Recommend making reservations in advance. We arrived half an hour early, they told us our table was ready, even though the restaurant was full. Atmosphere and staff are very welcoming. Our only problem was what to order as all the dishes... This place is awesome. The food was incredible and the view and atmosphere are amazing. I had the Lobster Bisque and it was outstanding. I also had onion rings, which I honestly think were the best I've ever had. The staff are great too!

We were so excited to arrive at Wild Caraway! As we parked on the side of the building, we walk to the front realizing it was not the entrance. And of course, two cars had just entered the already busy location. We right behind over hearing the conversation the restaurant was booked with reservations at 1pm. Sure enough, the individuals,... I had an absolutely amazing meal here. Everything on the menu featured fresh, local ingredients. The combination of ingredients in the chicken dish I ordered created layers of flavour that each complemented the other. One of the best meals I have ever had.

This restaurant food is excellent. You can only get in with a reservation far in advance which is what I did. My husband is gluten intolerant and this place has a menu for gluten free people. The staff are super friendly and helpful and the quality of the food is good. I do think the prices are high because the... More

This is a very pleasant stop in a secluded corner of Nova Scotia., in an old house nicely converted to a cafe. My wife did not care for the soup of the day that was on the menu, but the waitress kindly offered to check with the chef to see if he had anything else. What emerged was an excellent... More

I can't remember giving a restaurant five stars, but in this case it is merited. The place is all about the food: no top-end decor, no avalanche of fresh flowers, no elegant tapestries, just a room full of happy people smiling over plates of delicious, carefully prepared food. I won't say much about menu items, because the carte changes every... More

I called ahead the morning of to book a reservation for two for noon (it was a Sunday so I figured it would be busy), and it was quickly accepted. The drive down to Advocate from Joggins was lovely and only took just under an hour to complete. The Wild Caraway is just on the main road and impossible to... More

The biggest problem we have going to Wild Caraway is having to choose. Of course everything is excellent. We reserved a table in a window and enjoyed the view across the lawn with the big trees over to the harbour. Later on we watched some fog roll in over the point. The beginning treat was a shot glass of cold... More

There aren't a lot of choices of restaurants in Advocate Harbor and, with this one, there don't need to be many because it's SO good with a very varied menu. We split a bowl of seafood chowder which was perfect...not too overly creamy and with plenty of seafood and veggies and beautifully flavored. He had the special rotini/seafood pasta of... More
