While staying at a guest house nearby, one of the locals recommended Amuse as one of the top places to dine in the valley, so we made a reservation for a Saturday dinner one Winter night. For starters, we both had the sweetbreads, something which can be a variable experience at many restaurants, but here the sweetbreads were very tender... More

We turned up on spec to a splendid garden setting and were welcomed warmly. Service was excellent - knowledgeable and friendly. The food was well presented, served promptly, without being too quick to preclude careful preparation, and used local produce with distinction. It was quiet, so neither the kitchen nor the wait-staff were stretched. The cost was reasonable. While Cherry... More

Sinced they moved to Cherry Point they have been working very hard to catch up. The food is still very good but the location is not great. The patio is very nice, but inside is pretty plain. The service varies. Hopefully once they get better settled they will be back to their old standards of great food and service.

I had a terrible experience at this locale. Do not dine here. The three course (plus canapé) meal took about 4+ hours total. It took so long my guests had to leave because they had babysitters that could not stay any longer. My celiac best friend was served gluten in her food (when the restaurant boasted to me about being... More

We booked this lunch through email and were looking forward to a pleasant lunch with friends before moving onto other vineyards. On our arrival we were a little confused as to where the Bistro was but were kindly taken there but the staff of the tasting room. The meals were excellent but the service though friendly was almost non existent.... More

My husband and I ate dinner here with a friend. We had a reservation but when we arrived at the restaurant, there were only a few tables occupied in a rather large space. We were seated immediately but it took quite a long time for our waiter to show up. We all had the 3-course meal with the wine pairings... More

The outdoor and indoor seating both have spectacular views. Staff were friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, the food was a big disappointment. My wife and I both got the 3 course dinner. Although the portions were quite large and the dishes were creative, we weren't very happy with the food in general. In particular, the food was very salty and they... More

This is the best place around to eat. The service is amazing...and it is in a vineyard so you can do a bit of wine tasting first. They have a little menu, but they give you appetizer bits and sherbet between course, and a chocolate truffle at the end if you can't do dessert. Everything and I mean everything is... More

This restaurant deserves our attention, but needs less attention from the waiter staff. The chef team are superb as designers and executers of their art. The food we had was perfectly prepared and presented: lovely tomato starter, duck pate (called a "parfait" which needed a bit more salt or the addition of some highly reduced stock in preparation) with lovely... A great afternoon outing for visitors to Victoria is the one hour drive to the Kinsol Trestle, an hour spent walking there, and then 15 minutes to the Amuse restaurant before crossing the Malahat pass on the drive back. Amuse is a converted farmhouse in a pastoral setting of vineyards. Several outside and semi outside seating options. The menu is... More
