Popular restaurant. Best to make reservations for dinner. Eight of us ordered from the chef’s specials & every one of us loved our meal. Of course, there was sharing around the table too. Be prepared to wait a bit as everything is made fresh while you are there - best way to have Japanese. All staff are very attentive.

I've eaten here three years in a row on Spring Break. At first, I was leery of sushi in a mountain town, but honestly, this place is *good*. In fact, it's better than many sushi places in downtown Vancouver (which has easier access to fresh seafood). The tempura is particularly light and the spinach gomae sauce is excellent. Th space... Found the menu items pricey. Understandably given the location. Ordered several take out items. Only two sets of chopsticks provided while there was more food ordered than for two. Dishes were average in flavour. We will not return to this spot preferring other dining options.

We had lunch at Oya and it was good. Many sushi and noodles options. Service was pretty quick, but the restaurant was not very busy for lunch. A little on the pricey side.

The food at Oya is great. The restaurant is opposite the Grand Hotel on the Village Stroll. They have a great selection of sashimi. sushi, California rolls, udon noodles and regular favourites such as tempura. The service was friendly and efficient. Not to be missed when visiting Sun Peaks.

The sushi is ok here. Nothing to complain about but nothing to write home about either. It's pricey for what it is. I had the fire fire roll. For a "special roll" it could have had a bit more pizzazz.

We tried a couple things I found unique on Oya's menu including a lettuce roll, sunomono roll and a tempura tuna salad. By far my favourite was the lettuce roll and I will stop in the future to have it as a snack before heading home. Definitely more pricey than in town but food options on the hill generally are.... Oya Sushi is located in the heart of Sun Peaks. They serve a wide variety of Sushi. And their chef knows how to make you happy. A great place for sushi high up in the mountain. Perfect place for lunch and dinner.
