My husband and I were coming home from PG and stopped here randomly. Food was awesome and service was top notch. Definately recommend this place to anyone.

My partner and I ate dinner at the Alpenhorn Bistro & Bar in Smithers on two occasions recently. During the first visit I ordered the lamb shank and a pint of beer. My partner ordered white wine and crab cakes. My dinner was quite good, but my partner's crab cakes were inedible - there was very little crab in them.... More

Food here is several cuts above typical pub fare. They do have burgers and fries, but there's so much more. Crab cakes, delicious homemade potato chips, panini sandwiches, interesting salads. My chicken/wild Mushroom gnocchi was sensational. Prices could be a dollar or two per plate more than you'd expect in a small town pub, but the menu choices and attention... More

Our group of 3 adults thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at Alpenhorn. Service was excellent - even able to accommodate some specific dietary needs. 2 of us had the peppercorn schnitzel and 1 had the western steak salad. They didn't have fresh avocado to add to the salad which would have been a nice touch. We've been hear several times when... More

And the food is gourmet here. I've had several items on the menu and never been disappointed. The kitchen uses lots of locally grown meat and veggies and the quality is quite pleasing. It's a very neat decor, clean and attractive. The beer selections seemed to me to be diverse and suiting to many tastes. A great find for a... More

Excellent atmosphere , what a place to celebrate the New Year ! The mussels were tasty , crisp mozza sticks and calamari was exceptional as many of the appertizers ! The schnitzel was a bit dry but Great service overall . We'd go again.

I was with a large group at the same time another group of 6 arrived. The waitress handled both groups really well. Would not recommend the bar drinks. My dirty martini was not very good and the cosmo my friend had was super sweet. However, my French country Chicken entree was delicious. My friend's quesidilla was not really up to... More

We had dinner at here at 9:30, when almost all restaurants in Smithers are closed. It's a nice bar, but not a good restaurant. I had the Turkey Burger, the general flavour was the pickles on the burger. Burgers at White Spot are better and a bit cheaper. My daughter had the Gnocchi, served in a mushroom sauce that I... My beef brisket was good, but the mushroom soup stole the show. It was more like steak and mushroom soup.
