Top cute and old place i the old part of Locarno close to the lake lago maggiore. Reserve a table because the place is small. They serve inside in the small restaurant, on a little terrace or down on the lake , but also small...place. The food is good, try something. Recommendable.More

A perfect dining experience. Some of the best gnocchis I've ever had. The penne and fish dishes were fresh and delicious too. Great spot on the lake with a lovely cozy atmosphere in the evening.
The food was absolutely wonderful. Excellent service and a great place if you’re willing to spend a bit more . We ordered the scallops and risotto to start with and ended with the octopus and Osso Bucco. Rarely have I experienced a restaurant where every...bite makes you say “mmmm” . We were brought here by my brother and his partner who live in Locarno, and we were extremely pleased with their choice for a farewell dinner on our last night. It was a chilly evening so the open fire and cosy atmosphere were very welcome,...as was an outstanding but rather expensive dinner. I am still licking my lips while remembering the Foie Gras starter, a triumph of flavours and textures. The lovely man who looked after us was friendly and funny and tolerant of our rather loud table! This was probably the last night they were open before everything was shut down in Switzerland because of the COVID19. We hope that this horrible situation doesn't last too long and that they can open again very soon to continue to delight future diners. Rest assured that we will be back as soon as we can, and we wish them the very best.More
An unbelievable find based on reading other reviews! Was looking for somewhere special for lunch and discovered this gem! Location as has been said before, is tucked away on a hill (a few minutes from Lakeside) almost parallel to the Lake down a little cobbled...walkway! Delightful, friendly, good English speaking welcome and small but beautifully traditional unusual menu of high quality! Well explained to us in English ! Will definitely return when back in Locarno!More
Located in small street out of crowdy main Locarno street in small house with stone tables it is the very nice and intimate place for romantic and really good lunch or dinner. Very nice staff with very good recommendations (wine, food), all fresh made meals...are very tasty and original. Including small starters (free greetings from kitchen), main course and desserts, all is perfect. Including quiet romantic atmosphere and good prices (it is Switzerland) makes this place really great option for food in Locarno.More

My friends and I had an absolutely perfect dinner at Osteria Chiara, we felt welcome and enjoyed the friendly staff. Also, food was excellent and creative!! The ambience is amazing and we would go back anytime again when in Locarno! Thank you!!

Let´s start with the obvious: This is Switzerland so it´s not going to be cheap. Having said that, my wife and I had a fabulous seasonal three course meal, with excellent local wine (the quality of which surprised us) and friendly service in a retaurant...full of charm and atmosphere (on a Wednesday evening) for 150 Swiss Francs. We consider this well spent as we wanted (and received) good food, something a little different to the usual fare. The dishes were clearly home cooked and the presentation was excellent. We would go there again as we can imagine that the menu changes with the seasons and that it will always be busy. Don´t go with the children - go for a romantic meal for two or a night out with adult friends. It´s worth it in my humble opinionMore
