Decor too grey and rather depressing .The carpet is an insult to diners and needs urgent replacement. Food good but lacks refinement -soup bland and we had to ask for butter with the bread -also no lemon on prawn cocktail. Staff seem ill at ease/unsure and we were served by 3 different waitresses. Tables too close and could hear every... More

What a delightful place. Well worth a visit. The staff couldn't be more helpful. I had my 86 year old mother with me who can be a little cantankerous and they made sure she was happy and comfortable. Really busy so you will have to book. Food wonderful, excellent menu and a great selection on the drinks menu too.

Having previously called for a drink my wife and I called today for lunch and thoroughly enjoyed meals. My wife had one of the lite bites and I had the steak and ale pie. Both were beautifully presented and the pie was piping hot. I couldn't manage a dessert but my wife had the sticky toffee pudding and said it... More

Had the pleasure of coming to The Dunkirk for a hen do. We were there from 2pm til about 5. We had the small private room upstairs to ourselves that leads onto the balcony. There is a small bar up there with toilets. The lady behind the bar was fantastic and lovely all afternoon, nothing was too much trouble. All... More

I have been to the newly refurbished Dunkirk several times for lunch. I like the renovated decor, I personally feel it's been done very well. The staff are welcoming and I feel they are working hard to fully establish the place. I feel the menu is reasonably priced, but it's quite limited at lunch time. That said, I've always enjoyed... Just a great local whether on my own, with the husband or with the family, always welcome and never had a bad drink (although the Atom is a particular taste)

Hadn't been to the Dunkirk since before it was remodelled and the new modern country look felt a bit like being in a cafeteria. Sunday afternoon at 1pm looking around at numerous empty tables with reserve signs and were told we could eat at a table in overstuffed arm chairs which was not fit for purpose even though the empty... Came for a meal with some friends. Pub really busy as you would expect for a Saturday night. Really noisy- had to shout to hear each other! Good drinks selection but menu quite limited. Staff were friendly and service was fine. Would go back for an afternoon sandwich and chips but probably not for evening meal.

The decor of the pub is lovely, good selection of beers and spirits. As a bar/pub I cannot fault it. The food and service however is another matter. Been here twice now and service is very poor. Staff not attentive at all. Menu is simple but the food is average, certainly nothing to shout about. Wouldn't be able to recommend.
