We enjoyed our food and the service was good, BUT very few employees wore masks. Neither the person who seated us nor our server wore a mask. Person who brought our beverages wore a mask. When we asked, she said management leaves it up to...the employees. She wears one out of respect for customers. Afterwards we commented to each other that we should have asked for a server with a mask OR left right away. Praying for our own health and theirs! We won’t go back.More

I have not eaten here in years due to the poor service and lack of tasteful food. Today I ordered take out thinking that everyone needs somer business these days. I should have rethought my decision. We placed our order 1 hour and 45 mins...in advance to ensure that our food would be ready when we came there to pick it up. Well that didn't work. I don't think our food was even made. We waited for 20 mins before we got our order. Sorry to say that the food really didn't have much flavor. Don't waste your time here and go some place else.More

We stopped as we were passing through and were so pleasantly surprised! Got a quality burger with delicious fries, and a decent steak for a good price with incredible creamy garlic potatoes. We ordered for takeaway because restaurants absolutely should not be open right now...(and the fact that they have to in order for the business and the employees to survive is a failing of the federal and state administrations), so I can’t say much for overall ambiance. Staff was friendly but not a one of them wore a mask, which is really too bad because this pandemic dgaf about your politics or religious beliefs.More

I moved to Bismarck this year, and The Walrus is among the best restaurants I have tried, perhaps even my favorite. Everything is really fresh, price and portions are generous. The fettuccine alfredo side dish was perhaps the best version of this dish I have...tasted. They make it garlicky the way I like. I have heard that they make their own pasta vs. using dried. I don't know if this is true but I could believe it. I have not had the chance to dine in yet. It has the look of a local neighborhood bar in a nondescript shopping center -- not exactly a dive but nothing fancy. A locals kind of place, looks good for having some beers and watching a game.More

Four of us arrived a little before 6pm on a Thursday and we were promptly seated. Salads were fine; one person ordered soup which was served lukewarm. The waitress remedied it (probably threw it in the microwave). Chicken parmesan meal was quite good. My salmon...and my husband’s ribeye were a little over cooked - not painful enough to go through the hassle sending them back. The cheesy potato sides were lukewarm. The meatball stroganoff was loaded with larger slices of onion than was expected, but was tasty. Part-way through the meal the waitress asked if we wanted more beverages. Unfortunately the beer and wine for two of us took 15-20 minutes to arrive, which by then we were on the last bites of our dinners. The timing may have been because three large tables with families came in and the staff was focused on them. When we complained about the delay the server gave a half-hearted apology. We should have declined the drinks, but we were a little thirsty. We ended up leaving half of them because our companions wanted to get going because the noise level was up and it was difficult to talk. Overall, the visit was expensive for the experience.More

We have been to The Walrus several times in the past but this is the first time we have tried their pizza. And with Covid19, they were doing curbside service. Pizza was very good. We got a Mediterranean with white sauce and and Meatz. Only...issue was the wait time. Didn't mind how long it took but wish they would have just told me it would take longer rather than have me wait.More

Stopped in for dinner alone as my husband was in the hospital. Looking for a nice meal and a cozy place to breathe . Found it at The Walrus. I had one pf their dinner specials, a grilled Mahi with wild rice and a fried...zucchini. Absolutely lovely and delicious. A great place to dine.More

Decided to munch on the Santa Fe chicken burger. Very pleased with the cook on the patty, nice and tender and lots of flavour. Good portion of fries on the side. Service was excellent throughout the night.

The Walrus has a friendly pub atmosphere with 30 - 40 beers on tap, most were priced at $4 or $5 per pint. We had great service from our waitress and we ordered two items she had recommended. Thick-sliced bread spread with garlic butter and...a cup of wild rice with chicken soup were the starters. I had an enormous smoked turkey and asparagus wrap; the asparagus was cooked perfectly. My wife had "The Maggie" grilled chicken breast sandwich with toppings. She raved about the tenderness of the chicken. Two sandwiches, two pints, and a soda set me back less than $40. The Walrus has great food and is a very good value too.More
