Breakfast Well Done, Dinner Pretty Good.

The breakfast buffet is much above average. We dined outside in an attractive, covered and comfortable area. The food was good. My spouse's clams were excellent. My tuna was a bit too spicy for my palette. But all in all a pleasant experience.

We enjoy having lunch here, either at the restaurant outside seating or the pool. The food is always great, but the service is sometimes a little slow. Don't be in a rush. But, that's a hit and miss.

We really enjoyed visiting the Blockade Runner for a busy Thanksgiving service. The East Oceanfront Dining room is beautiful - lots of lovely, natural light and an elegant setting. Friendly, attentive staff. Amazing buffet selection. Everything we tried was delicious.

We were staying at the Blockade Runner and used the East Oceanfront for two suppers and a breakfast. In both cases we chose to use the indoor area, rather that outside, as it seemed a bit chilly. Our server for the two suppers, Leza, was most helpful, and attentive, but by no means intrusive. Very pleasant. On the first evening,... More

Everything about East is perfect! The menu has great options, the atmosphere was perfect, and presentation impeccable. Our family loved the experience -- even our picky 13-year old.

The food was fresh and delicious. The service was attentive. There was a choice of sitting in the air conditioned living room or outside on the terrace to catch the ocean breeze. There was locally sourced food. It was a good assortment to please the whole family. The bread was also fresh and delicious. We were very pleased and surprised.... More

We sat outdoors under a protective fly, surrounded by palm trees and flowers. You're back behind the sand dunes, protected from the wind and though you can't see the surf, you can certainly hear it. The setting was quite pretty. My wife started with a salad of arugula, goat cheese, beets and heirloom tomatoes with a blueberry reduction which she... More

I spent a few days with my wife at the Blockade Runner hotel in Wrightsville Beach NC. The hotel restaurant, East Oceanfront, served an exceptional dinner. The food was not at all what would be expected in a laid back oceanfront community. Dining in East was more of what you would expect in a major metropolitan area. The pork belly... More

Our server was excellent and magically appeared when we needed her and gave us privacy when we didn't. Great spot for an adventurous romantic dinner --- under a tent, wind blowing off the ocean, on the water but still in civilization (e.g. not a sticky floor pirate-themed seafood place). Food was very good...solid on preparation and ingredients from a rather... More
