This is the home store for Krispy Kreme which were invented in Winston. The secret is the patented Krispy Kreme doughnut machine which produces hundred of uniform yeast doughnuts each hour when running. The store is very clean and the staff is extremely customer centric. Over the past several years they have expanded their coffee options. Finally the m ore... More

As a Winston-Salem native, I was lucky to grow up on Krispy Kreme donuts. They blow Dunkin Donuts away - much lighter and more flavorful. If you get a chance to get "hot donuts now" direct from a Krispy Kreme store - don't miss the chance!

Someone else described this as Doughnut Heaven and hits the nail on the head. If you are lucky enough to get the glazed doughnuts when they are hot, OMG, best thing that ever hit your tongue. I dare you to stop at one! This is a must visit if you're ever coming through Winston-Salem, NC.

Winston-Salem is the home of doughnut heaven. Since I moved here in 1971 I have been enjoying them. There is a red sign that comes on when the popular glazed come out hot. The variety of doughnuts should please anyone...filled, frosted or cake. They are often used for school birthday parties. The Stratford Road store located across from Thruway Shopping... More

Because of some astute product placement, Krispy Kreme doughnuts are pretty well known these days, but they have been around since the late 1930s. Winston-Salem is their home town. They are so light and delicious you will need to buy them by the dozen. They can also be used in other recipes, such as bread pudding. I like them with... More

I love Krispy Kreme Doughnuts and there is one near me in Rockville, MD. When I heard that the original Krispy Kreme was located in Winston-Salem, I just had to go. To my amazement, they had the HOT sign on and the parking lot was packed. I had never experienced a fresh, hot of the belt KK doughnut. It was... More

I live in the city where these world famous delicious mouthwatering doughnuts originated. There are now all different kinds to choose from but my all time favorite is still the first original glazed. You must have one when the Hot and Now sign is on! Yummy!!

Love to come and get donuts here whether it's for a meeting, an event or just satisfy a craving for a hot fresh glazed donut. Summer brings cravings for donut sundaes. Kids love to watch the donuts being made. Be careful these donuts are addictive! Lol!

When the light is on, don't make the mistake of passing it by. The other doughnuts are good, but you MUST try the hot glazed........but only once a month
