We went to Sweet Potatoes for an early dinner, and it's a good thing we did. We were seated promptly but by the time we left, the line was out the door. The food is that good. Mostly comfort food. Delicious.

These two ladies (and staff) will make you desire to come back for more [we come here to eat every time we're in town]. The atmosphere is wonderful and in a great location downtown, where you can do some window shopping before dinner. And don't forget to purchase their cookbook, so you can attempt to recreate this delicious cuisine.

Fried green tomatoes were soggy and not crispy. Okra couldn't hold its coating. Service is awful. There was a beautiful table at the window and the host took us to the back by the bathroom. Gross!!! I requested the front and was reluctantly taken there. This is the second time we have eaten here and the only thing good was... More

What a great little spot. Went for lunch with my husband and two teenage kids based on excellent reviews on TripAdvisor. We each had something different and loved it all. Tried things we never had before, like fried green tomatoes and fried okra (yum!). Options for vegetarians. My daughter and I both had the Dirty Rice salad and LOVED it.... More

I don't know where to start in describing Sweet Potatoes. Chef Stephanie and Miss Vivian have taken basic Southern soul food and turned it upside down. They have created some of the best dishes bar none. But I'm getting ahead of myself. First off, you can't call for reservations, so my advice is to get there well in advance of... More

Quaint place. Had dinner w some work friends. Rachel was our server. She was very friendly and hospitable and made some great recommendations. I had the Yard Bird - fried chicken breast over greens and rice w melted Brie and covered w homemade chicken gravy. Very good! Friends had the meatloaf and the BBQ shrimp & grits. They were pleased.... More

We had lunch and found the entire experience very enjoyable. Our waitress was awesome. We had fresh pork rinds- they were still crackling when they were brought to the table. I've never had them fresh like that and Wont eat them them any other way. My husband had the PB&J. If you are feeling adventurous, then you have to try... More

Okay, for all those who don't think they like grits, this place will likely prove you wrong. These where the best grits I have ever eaten. I've been born and raised on grits and have always accepted them as part of a southern staple. Sweet Potatoes has made me proud of this dish. Just how good is this place with... More
