Highly, highly, highly recommend Sweet Potatoes for a mind-blowing journey into authentic Southern cuisine. I went with a few friends for lunch and would love to try their dinner menu. Fresh fried pork rinds were amazing. Their grits were the best I have ever had (don't tell my mom), and the dessert was pure homemade goodness. If you are in... More

Good food with great service. We have eaten here several times. The space is a bit small so family groups or large parties are not ideal. Prices are reasonably but slightly above average for the area. The bar is small and limited somewhat but this is a great dinner or lunch spot.

We were seated and waited for almost ten minutes before we left. One of the owners was on the cell phone talking and the service staff ignored us.

Good southern food. 2 areas in need of improvement - better lighting and allowing substitutions of sides on the fried catfish meal.

We are arrived on a Friday evening at about 7 PM, the wait for a table for two was about 20 minutes but there was no wait for the community table. We chose the community table, why not? It did not disappoint, our table mates were pleasant and one even offered dinner suggestions. Service was spot-on from the moment we... More

Went to Sweet Potatoes on the recommendation of a co-worker and I was not disappointed. The food tasted great, the servers were very efficient, and the ambiance was relaxing. I had the Fried Green Tomato sandwich with bacon, lettuce, and sweet potato aïoli (now this is the way to fix a BLT) -- and a side of sweet potato fries.... More

I had a horrible experience with a hotel there, but eating here definitely helped. The food was phenomenal and I can't wait to visit again!!

Moved my wife down for a job in Winston Salem, looking for a place close by to eat. This place jumped out and we ended up with a great meal, talking to the bartender who filled us in on not only the food but the area. Can't wait to go back

Sweet Potatoes is one of Winston-Salem's best restaurants! Not only is the food fabulous, the ambience is also magnificent. In addition to healthy portions of food, they also provide a heaping portion of Southern hospitality.

Whether you are visiting or a local who just hasn't tried this (like I was), get there as soon as you can! You won't find better upscale Southern cuisine anywhere in the city. I am just sorry I wasted so much time in getting there! This is a small place, so be aware. Best to go in and put your... More
