I have been going to the Dixie Grill for years and I have never had a bad meal. I try to avoid the "high" times so that I will not have to wait for a seat. If you sit near the front, be sure to take a stroll to the back. You can see into the kitchen, find an old... More

This breakfast restaurant is excellent- best in Wilmington in my opinion. Their biscuits are my favorite! Expect a wait during the weekend mornings but it's worth the wait!

Looking for a place to eat breakfast downtown and came upon The Dixie. I had read about it. The food was delicious. The best grits we have ever eaten. Service was great too! Highly recommend.

This was a neat place to go and have lunch! The food was great and the atmosphere was nostalgic to say the least! I hope to go back very soon when in the Port City!

I was in downtown Wilmington and needed to get some lunch before a meeting. The restaurant was busy but the tables were turning over quickly. I was by myself and sat at the bar. The Grill itself looks like it was possibly a saloon in times past. Service was prompt and attentive. I started with good fresh-brewed sweet tea. At... More

We entered a dark eatery at 10:45 a.m. just to hear that Duke Power had just cut off their power to change a condenser - the whole street was dark. There were lots of people there so we just took a booth at the front window and asked if we could have coffee if it was still hot - it... More

Fantastic diner-type restaurant. Be prepared to be surprised. All day diner-style breakfast? yup- but check out those huevos verduras- beautifully cooked, great tasting, super value. Definitely going back- soon.

We ate at the Dixie Grill on the first morning of our visit to Wilmington. We were expecting a great Southern breakfast. The restaurant was seat yourself, which was difficult, as it was hard to see in the back of the restaurant. The breakfast was ordinary, except for the biscuits, which were not good at all. When we inquired as... More

Had highly anticipated our trip to this popular eatery, but my husband and I were a bit disappointed. First off, there was a long wait. There was little outdoor seating while waiting-one of which was a broken wooden bench. We could not help but be overwhelmed by the aroma of poo from the horse & buggy going up and down... More
