We had dinner at The George on a Saturday. We had our dog with us so we had a very short wait for an outdoor table with an excellent view of the River. We had drinks and the gator bites with red pepper dipping sauce...for appetizers. For dinner we had the seafood platter and the grilled salmon BLT. Both were excellent! We had a very nice time with great views and the staff at The George were very friendly, especially to our dog. Our server Heather was great! The George has great food and views, and they are very pet friendly!!!More

This will be short, swift and to the point…. Our waitress Andrea was outstanding the food is overpriced and bland no flavor at all. Maybe 🤔 we came on a bad day and the so call chef 👩‍🍳 wasn’t happy 😃 and motivated but I...could’ve made this tasteless crap at home and saved $84 dollars 💵. What you are paying for is the scenery overlooking the River and that’s it…. Peace ✌️& hair grease!!!More

Stayed a night in Wilmington and didn't realize the annual marathon was being run that day. We took a walk along the river walk and made an unplanned stop at The George for lunch. After a short wait we were seated inside. Covid protocols in...place and practiced. The service was efficient and friendly. The George Burger was on target and all enjoyed their meals.More

Excellent food, amazing service, outstanding location. We were told to wait for one to one and a half hour for a table on a Saturday night and got a message in 45 minutes.

The special of the day for New Year's day was pot chop, black-eyed peas, and greens! The special was great and more than enough to eat when you added the rice. The seafood platter was a good assortment and a nice presentation. The mac and...cheese with lobster were creaming and tasted great. Nice place right on the river with over half the seating available on the deck. Look forward to another opportunity to try something else from the menu.More

Always a great place to go with good menu, fair prices, great staff, good food, and the views are all good outside on the patio on the river!

Four of us dined last night (10 October 2020); first time here for my husband and me. Complimentary parking across the street, but had to wait until someone left. We had 6:30pm reservations. We sat at the outdoor deck to enjoy the fresh air and...views. However, the awnings blocked some of the views. It was overcast, so the awnings could have been rolled up. The restaurant followed the 50% capacity rules and the staff wore their masks. Some wore gloves. Our waitress was Heather and she provided very good service. For our appetizer, we had the alligator bites. I never had alligator before and no, it doesn't taste like chicken. I liked it a lot. The four us ordered the shrimp and grits, which was excellent!! I hope to return again soon to enjoy more of their menu items and to have cocktails on the outdoor deck.More

My husband and I ate at the restaurant last Thursday mid-afternoon. Katie was our waitress and she was very nice and attentive without being intrusive. My lunch (crab and corn chowder) was delicious. We had patio seats which was nice, but the awnings blocked part...of the view of the riverfront. Even though seats closest to the riverfront without the awnings blocking the view WERE available at the time we were there and we asked for them, we were told that those CHOICE seats were RESERVED for people who brought their PETS to the restaurant. I said nothing until now, but that didn't sit especially well with me. The dogs couldn't care less about the view, yet the tourists (like us) do, and I believe should at LEAST have equal opportunity.More

My family and I love coming to this place. We were so excited to be here for our annual visit. My mother and I, and my 2 children walked up to ask the hostess a question. Mind you, this is outside in front of the...entrance. We did not have masks on YET as we were there to inquire about the wait and the inside bar. We thought we would ask if one of us could get some drinks for my 2 kids who were really thirsty, while we waited to be sat. The hostess could not have been more rude. I understand that masks are required upon entry. The first thing she did was ask, “Where are your masks?!” The way she said it was so snooty. I was so embarrassed. I said we have masks, but I was just wondering if the bar is open (so I could get my kids something to drink while we wait to get a table). She said, “nope it’s full!” No, it is full at the moment, but we can definitely let you in when there is available space. No, can we get you on the list or seat you when possible? She just looked at us like we were aliens. She did not give two cents. I was so infuriated by her short little snooty, non-caring attitude that we left. My mother and I told the kids we would find another place where we feel welcome and not just pushed away by some little girl. We walked off and stood for a little bit watching as others went into the bar. Very sad. This place is amazing and we always look forward to coming here. I come with girlfriends, I come with my family, and I always rant and rave about The George. However, this time, I am very disappointed. That hostess is going to turn away many good customers with her little attitude. There is a way to talk to people and a way to accompany them and she has zero etiquette. I hope the manager realizes this and makes a change.More

Great shrimp & grits. A bit noisy inside as we couldn't get a seat outside with all the silly mask restricsons.

Great question! Casual dress is permitted as boating guests are welcome during lunch and dinner service. Many guests dress up more in the evening but nothing special is required. We hope to see you soon!
