The George is one of several Riverwalk restaurants on the Cape Fear River in Wilmington, NC. I have eaten at all of them and the George is one step above all for fine dining. The location is fabulous and the food matches. My wife and I shared a Pecan Crusted Grouper with an herb risoto. Both were excellently prepared and... More

Spent a Friday night in Wilmington, caught a free concert and topped it off with drinks and dinner at the Georges. They were out of the IPA on the menu, ended up with a delicious parmagranite martini. We had a steak and shrimp and grits that's was priced well for the flavor; not out of this world but very tasty.... More

5 of us greatly enjoyed lunch. We had Panko flounder sandwich, salmon blt, firecracker shrimp wrap, spicy tuna flatbread and chicken panini. Everyone enjoyed their meals. Sat outside and enjoyed the view-fans were enough to keep comfortable.

I take people here for the view from the outside dining area and for drinks. It has a nice view of the waterfront. It is touristy but that appears to be their market and as a result the food is average and sometimes service can be lacking.

Good food, great location. The food is a little pricey but that is to be expected for the downtown area. It can be very crowded at times so I would recommend trying to avoid the peak meal times and get there early. Overall it was pretty good.

A great restaurant with excellent seafood, a great view, and wonderful service. Expensive but excellent food which you don't always get in a tourist area. Really enjoyed our meal here.

On a business trip to Wilmington, NC in August 2016 our group decided to dine along the riverfront, and we selected "The George" as our spot because they took reservations. Which is a good thing because when we arrived we found the spacious outdoor patio (overlooking the river) packed with diners while inside it was more quiet and certainly cooler.... More

We wondered in for a cold beer and stayed for dinner. The general crowd was upscale, as was the menu. The dishes we ordered were really good, as were our drinks. We sat at the bar, so our service was quite good. This would be a very nice date/occasion restaurant.

Three of us stopped for lunch while exploring the Downtown Riverwalk. Nice atmosphere. We had drinks at the bar while waiting for our table. It was definitely worth the wait. The Blackened Grouper Reuben and Crab Cake Sandwiches were tasty and the Shrimp and Crab Nachos were so good we couldn't stop eating them! Our server, Ben, was friendly and... More

Had a very delicious meal at "the George " on the river walk in Wilmington. The service was great and the crab legs were wonderful. The baked potato casserole was a pleasant surprise - cheesy and tasted great! We were able to be seated quickly inside the restaurant as the wait for outside seating was quit long. Once we were...
