This warm and comfortable restaurant has a different menu from the "typical" Chinese restaurant. They make everything from scratch including the complementary crispy noodles and duck sauce served before every meal.
The menu includes duck and some unusual items. Prices are reasonable.
I had a chicken specialty stir fry, my wife had a shrimp specialty stir-fry and my adult son had duck. The stir-fries with fresh veggies and did not have a hint of grease; fresh and bright. My son's duck was perfect, not overcooked, with a tasty brown sauce. We had Crab Rangoon for an appetizer, and we can tell they were not from a frozen plastic bag and made from scratch.
Service was excellent. Staff use rolling carts as is used in Chinatown NYC restaurants. This allows for relaxed serving with no hurried "food runners" hand carrying dishes and rushing to throw them on the table
I believe the success of this location is due to the fact that the single owner and wife (Joseph and Sally) work the restaurant every day, all day. We spoke to Joseph, and he shared he worked extensively in Chinatown NYC for many years before moving to North Carolina. This restaurant was recommended to us by several of our neighbors as one of their "Go To" places.
We will be back often. (Norm and Maureen)

Best Chinese food in town. Everything you taste is made from scratch. Best egg rolls I think I have ever had. Heck my wife and I get them as dessert! From more classic dishes that everyone knows, to the more eccentric the food is magnificent. The owner is always helping out in the restaurant and makes you feel welcome the second you walk in. Don't let the exterior deceive you, there is a phenomenal atmosphere and dining experience waiting!

We were looking for Chinese food . This restaurant is not in the 'trendy' Riverwalk area. Take the time to drive here for a meal. It is a classic conventional chinese restaurant serving the same hearty tasting food I remember from my first chinese restaurant more than 40 years ago. I got my usual vegetable lo mein and it tasted great. A lot of people were also eating here.

I have ever had. Literally inedible. I gave it to my dog, The cashier explained very nicely to me that the wings were marinated and might be pink inside. I said thats fine, as long as they were fully done. She said they were very delicious. They we4ren't. The worst food I've had from a restaurant in a long time. The rice was brown and crispy the wings soggy and mushy. I guess they just gave me days old food for $23.

We picked up our dinner to consume at our hotel so we could avoid eating inside a hotel restaurant. We had a very good hot and sour soup. Ordering two dinners, we had plenty for two separate nights. We had very good tofu and broccoli in a white sauce (a special order on our part). It was accompanied by brown rice.

Ordered hunan chicken and hot and sour soup for take out. Found hair on the soup, forgot to give spoon so had to slurp the soup. Tasted bland. Not hot nor sour.
Hunan chicken was greasy and tasteless.
Horrible.

It may look like one from the outside, but this is not another hole-in-the-wall strip Chinese restaurant. This place is great. The food is far from your typical Chinese takeout, the decor is fine, and the service is plentiful and friendly. Who could as for more? It will be a regular for us.

Gave this restaurant a try and was pleasantly surprised. The service was excellent and the food was very good. Spicy was spicy, the way it should be. Not your run of the mill Chinese food and not the typical menu choices. We will definitely be back.

Wow! We finally found an authentic, delicious Chinese restaurant! So so good! Everything was home-made and excellent! We loved the spring rolls that come with amazing creamy corn bites, and the fire-cracker beef! And our server was so sweet and attentive! We will be back!

Two couples from Myrtle Beach motored up to Wilmington for some real Peking duck. Called ahead 2days for the duck. We arrived at the appointed time and were seated at our reserved table. Shared an appetizer, pork fried dumplings, before the duck was served. The Peking duck was outstanding, correctly carved with accompanying onion, cucumber and hosanna sauce. The pancakes were perfect. The staff were very courteous and professional. This is the restaurant for real Peking duck. Highly recommended.

Went with family because we were craving "real Chinese." The service was good but the waitress didn't really understand what we were asking for and was quite in inflexible regarding the menu. Although polite, it was clear that if you deviated from the menu it would cost you. Guess there really isn't any good Chinese in the Wimington area.
