Bad Virginia oysters...dry, small compared to other restaurants in the area... probably shucked the day before. Grouper had to be frozen, water in each bite. Flavor fine, but.... Small portions. Good service.

We stopped by for lunch after touring the USS North Carolina, across the river. We had calamari for appetizer, which my wife said was the "best she ever had" and the wedge salad for her and the black bean burger for myself, both were very good. However she should of asked for the dressing on the side because it was... More

Visiting family here in Wilmington. Decided to go to Pilot House because we wanted to experience the historic district/riverfront ambience. And we love seafood! Charming location, nicely appointed inside with good outdoor seating if desired. We sat inside. Make sure you get reservations and request a window. Seafood selection was very good, something for everyone. Be cautious with the raw... More

We stopped here for lunch. I decided to try the Seafood Bisque. It was awful! It resembled wallpaper paste. There were lumps of floury paste and absolutely no taste of seafood. I could not finish. The waiter did offer to replace it and did not charge the item. This was unfortunate because the other food was good.

My husband and I have been to the Pilot House in Wilmington, NC many times since the 1980's! Tonight was superb. Our waiter, Adam, was excellent and personable. The dinner was one of the best I have had in a long time. I ordered the Shrimp with Grits and was delighted to see that it was a different and more... More

My wife and I have been to The Pilot House many times whenever family is in town for a visit. The food is great and the desserts are very good. Highly recommended.

Tried appetizers, soups (loved the Carolina Bisque), and mostly seafood entrees. All very good. Shrimp and crab cakes were especially nicely prepared. Atmosphere is both classy and casual. They have a number of dining areas ranging from relaxing and cozy to more airy and open with attractive views of the river and bridge. Service was polite, friendly, and attentive. Parking... More

First we waited 5 minutes till a hostess came out (7:30 arrival on a Thursday). The waiters were friendly. The food was timely and mostly good but nothing special especially considering the price (mostly $25- $30 entrees).

Good drinks, tasty meals and appetizers. Service was excellent. We dined outdoors, right on the Cape Fear river.

Quaint little restaurant on the Waterfront. Stopped in Wilmington to have lunch and enjoy the scenic historic view before getting on the road. Food was fantastic and our server Lindsey was awesome.
