I ate at the German Cafe three times in the week I spent in Wilmington. Each time was more was more amazing than the last. After I was there three times for lunch and dinner, I went back my last night to buy several strudel to take home to the family. Get the idea its a favorite place to eat?... More

I attended a business lunch here and it was a huge success. We had a private room which made our meeting session go well. Then we had lunch! The food was delicious! Desserts were awesome. Our servers were very attentive! I plan to return to this restaurant with my husband regularly!

My family and I are in Wilmington for a weekend get away and the German Cafe is across the street from our hotel. All I can say is it was delicious. We started with a cheese tray and had the veal schnitzel as our main dish. It was cooked perfectly and more than enough food. Great atmosphere and the service... More

Love the food and atmosphere here. Its at the Cotton Exchange right across from the river. Very good food and excellent service. My wife and I eat here 2-3 times a year. Very good lunch too!

My wife and I had lunch here on a beach get-away. This is a hidden-away spot behind the Cotton Exchange downtown on the river, but not “on the river”. Stepping through the door, you could juxtapose yourself into a toned down Bavarian atmosphere, real German beer, and authentic German food! We ate early and there was no wait. Our waitress... More

A quaint setting without being tacky. We were there for lunch and it was delicious. Wait staff was very pleasant and helpful. Our food arrived looking appetizing and in a very timely fashion. If you have a problem using stairs request a ground level table. Other dining areas are reached by small staircase(s). A different set up for a restaurant... More

We enjoyed a nice dinner here on a Saturday night. The portions were generous. The veal was sliced thin as it should be. Service was friendly and prompt. The interesting nooks where you are seated are not visible from the entrance. Good beer and amazingly large desserts. We took home some strudel which is available near the front door for... More

My husband and I enjoyed lunch here during a busy event weekend in Wilmington. It is located in the Cotton Exchange so parking is very convenient (and free) in the lot there. My husband had the Reuben and I ordered the knockwurst platter -- both had the sauerkraut and potato salad. It was delicious even though the kraut and German... More

Almost german, but still far away. The food was inspired of Germany, but that was almost it. It was not the best schnitzl I have been served.
