Excellent German cafe. Some of the best German food in the USA! Brats were perfect and the beer was also. I will certainly go back for more. Also the waitress was super good.

We went early on a Saturday night. The service was great! The food and beer was delicious. I had the veal schnitzel and my husband had the pork schnitzel. We had the sausage appetizer and everything was very tasty and tender. We will eat here again when we return to Wilmington.

Recommended by neighbor. He's Irish. Went for lunch with my husband, his sausage was O.K. but my schnitzel was terrible. It was half burnt and half gooey on the frying. The meat was so full of grizzle you couldn't cut it without a fight. Tried a couple bites and had to spit both out. The German potato salad was O.K.. I'm... More

Lunch here was great! I had schnitzel with German potato salad and a side salad. The schnitzel was cooked perfectly, the potato salad was very good (remember it's supposed to be warm), and the garden salad was neat and fresh. While they have a good selection of bottled beers, I opted for one of the two or three German beers... More

This is better than the "German" fare I had on my last trip to Nuremburg. I had the Jäger Schnitzel with sweet kraut, German potatoes, and veggies. Not only extremely well-prepared, but the service was excellent. And who would have thought to find such an authentic German restaurant in Wilmington, NC much less the USA. This place gets a five... Had tomato soup with mushrooms and croutons as well as a half house salad. Beautiful presentation of salad with homemade ranch dressing and a slice of melon. Soup was hearty, almost a chowder with large chunks of mushroom. Wonderful intimate lunch at a very decent price. Service was excellent. Tables are small, not a place for large parties.

I ate at the German Cafe three times in the week I spent in Wilmington. Each time was more was more amazing than the last. After I was there three times for lunch and dinner, I went back my last night to buy several strudel to take home to the family. Get the idea its a favorite place to eat?... More

I attended a business lunch here and it was a huge success. We had a private room which made our meeting session go well. Then we had lunch! The food was delicious! Desserts were awesome. Our servers were very attentive! I plan to return to this restaurant with my husband regularly!

My family and I are in Wilmington for a weekend get away and the German Cafe is across the street from our hotel. All I can say is it was delicious. We started with a cheese tray and had the veal schnitzel as our main dish. It was cooked perfectly and more than enough food. Great atmosphere and the service... More
