Nice People, Too much filler

These people are very nice and the service is prompt. However, no matter what we order, they add lots of big, very crunchy, square chunks of carrots and big chunks of celery. Since the restaurant is convenient to me, I recently decided to give it another try and ordered beef with broccoli, and again, this was filled with lots of big chunks of crunchy carrots and celery. For me, this is just not what I enjoy in Chinese food.

Awesome Chinese food!!

Excellent Chinese delivery/take-out, can eat in but no real dining room, great food! I have ordered delivery from them for over twenty years and they have always had consistently great Chinese food!

Good, Fast Chinese Fare

Tried the Lucky Star take-out for the first time last week, and was quite pleased. I ordered online, thinking the food would take about an hour to be ready, but they called me very courteously in 40 minutes for pickup. The food from the extensive menu was hot and tasty, and reasonably priced; I found the sauces a little bland, but I imagine if I had known to ask for hotter/spicier I'd have gotten it. I am pleased to know that we have such a quick and reliable food resource in my own neighborhood

Horrible Customer Service!

Do not order from here. The worst customer service experience ever. Did not deliver all the food and would not refund my money. When I called the lady on the phone was argumentative and refused to accept that the order was missing. Utterly horrible service.

Sickening experience.

Ordered 3 entrees from here for delivery to my mother. The food made her sick. We both called and were both told for her to go see a doctor and bring a drs report back to the restaurant in order for their insurance company to pay them to reimburse her. When I told them that by the time she got to a dr, she would probably feel better and how would a dr diagnose an upset stomach, I was told there is nothing more they could do. Don’t waste your time or money here. Not worth the risk.

So far, the food has been pretty decent. While I have not been at the restaurant, the deliveries of the food have tasted quite excellent.

Bad food, bad service.

I used to eat there 3-4 times a week and one day I ordered the lunch special and they refused to give it to me because it was 3 min. after 3:00. And their steamed dumplings are disgusting.

Always delicious

It is SO hard to find a good quality chinese restaurant and we are SO LUCKY to have this wonderful restaurant right around the corner from our house... The food is always amazing quality, large portion & great prices... I stop here at least once per week on my way home from work to grab a quick dinner for my husband and me .... definitely recommend!

Horrible customer service

I barely order Chinese food but I was craving something hearty like a good chow mein dish. Chow mein meaning fried noodles in a ramen style dish. Upon getting my order I receive a baby shrimp in a white gravy style meal with no noodles. The only noodles in the bag were the same one used for the soup (crispy noodles) and I ordered a double wonton soup which would be 2 bags of noodles. I called right away to explain I received the wrong thing. It is more like a chop suey. The owner answered and she said that is how SHE makes chow mein at HER restaurant. I explained to her that I have never had chow mein like that and asked if there was anything she could do since I won't be eating the meal. She denied a refund not a replacement and no apologies. I will never order from here again. Customer service needs to be better and if you don't know how to properly cook chow mein it should be explained on the menu.

My love for Lucky Star has ended!!

My love for Lucky Star has ended. We ordered delivery and when it came it was the wrong order. We had opened a few things before we realized that is wasn't ours. Called them back and they brought right order back. When the driver arrived he said something about repackaging the food to take back....It took me until I was going back into the house to tell that he was serious. I gave him back the food that we had not opened and mentioned to the driver that the food was probably not allowed back into their Kitchen. He stated "it's OK their probably just gonna mix it back in or something"!..WOW loved Lucky Star but will never eat there again!

Delicious food, fair delivery times, online ordering.

Ordered from here late at night, an hour before closing and the food arrived within 45 minutes. Fried rice was good. I had the dragon/phoenix (chicken & shrimp), which was delicious. My wife had the garlic chicken, which was juicy and flavorful. The Rangoon were also delicious. Was nice to see online ordering as well. Would order from again.

ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING

I ordered a "spare ribs plate" from this restaurant through grub hub and it looked and tasted like dried out pork fat and bark covered in salty sweet sauce. It wasn't even edible. Grubhub thankfully refunded my money but the manager of the restaurant refuses to talk to me. The worst business practice is to ignore the comments of your patrons. They aren't all worthy of compensation but something like this is absolutely ridiculous. THE WORST!!!!

Consistently good Chinese fare

Our family has been ordering from lucky star for the past ten years. Their food is good and they are always willing to take special requests, which we appreciate, like not spicy, or low oil, or no green peppers in this dish please! Their soups are especially good, and we have compared them to several other places in town. They are generous with the number of wontons they place in the soup as well! They are quick to prepare their orders, though we usually pick up because we have found their delivery time may take a bit longer than expected. They are so friendly in the store, and it is a family owned and run business. Give lucky star a try.

Best Chinese Take Out In Wilmington!

I've tried lots of Chinese Take Out and Lucky Star has the best in Wilmington! Whether you're after old favorites like egg rolls and sesame chicken or something more adventurous like spicy tofu or Singapore Chow Mei Fun, you won't be disappointed. They make everything - no frozen junk here. The dumplings are particularly good - like none I've ever had anywhere. Their sauces have really good depth of flavor. Everything is cooked to order. Other Chinese joints in town seem to overcook their vegetables and end up with stinky broccoli and stinkier bok choy. Lucky Star gets it right every time! Veggies are fresh and perfectly cooked. I expected better quality food to be more expensive, but it's not. Portions are generous too. There are two booths inside, but there's usually a delivery driver waiting for his next call or the owner's children doing their homework there, so you'll want to do delivery or carry out. I often order dinner when I leave work and pick it up on the way home. It's kind of fun to go during the dinner hour so you can see all their gas woks blazing in the back. They have things down to a science.
