I see mainly good reviews, which was why we stopped for breakfast. We waited quite a while for a seat and even longer for service. The food arrived cold and when grits are cold, they've been sitting for quite a while. I don't know if staff didn't show up or what was happening but we won't be back. There are... More

First time here and really enjoyed the food. Great meals at great prices. Staff is very friendly. Modern outside decor does not match the country (music, decorations) inside. Overall, very enjoyable.

Their open for Breakfast and lunch and are good for both too. I prefer breakfast though. The place is good food and good value. It is small, can be noisy, but the staff is excellent and keeps it moving.

Breakfast at a great value! The staff were very nice and the grits are very good. Not that long to wait for a table.

Price, meal time prep, and Service were decent. The overall attitude of the staff, interior, menu choices, and quality of food was below average. Many locals love it but not a destination of import for tourists. Very common lunch experience.

You know you are walking into a neighborhood joint when you enter the Salt Works. Everyone seems to know each other and the counter, where we sat, was busy with singles and pairs eating breakfast. Most of the tables were full too. Breakfast is reasonably priced and coffee is refilled often. I asked for poached eggs (the menu says "eggs... More

While at the beach and looking for something different...this came highly recommended and I've found that often what's NOT a chain restaurant is the Better Choice. Sure, it seems a little risky, a possible hit or miss situation but for the past couple years it seems as though the names we most recognize are more interested in price increases than... More

Here visiting family, we found this place on tripadvisor and found this to be a very busy local place for lunch that looks small from the outside in a old salt works mill. Once inside we found a large, maybe 60-seat, including counter, dinning room, with a short wait for a table. The owner grill chef was very pleasant to... More

Burgers are large and fresh, no frozen patties here. Hot dogs taste good and the buns are side and fresh not typical hot dog buns. Good chili and crinkle fries. Worth the drive and wait.? Super courteous staff.
