My son and I stopped by this place for some seafood based on the positive reviews I read on Trip Advisor. We started with the crab and shrimp dip, which was delicious with what seemed to be homemade pita triangles. We were surprised to also...get some yummy little corn muffins while we waited for our entrees. For my main mean, I had a fried platter with oysters, shrimp, and flounder. It was all delicious. Everything was lightly breaded and the portions were generous. The tartar sauce seemed to be homemade. The mashed potatoes and coleslaw were also delicious. My son got crab legs, and he enjoyed them very much. Our sever was very attentive. All of the severs there seemed very happy and friendly. This restaurant also had the most beautiful cakes, which was a lovely surprise. We got a piece of carrot cake and banana pudding cake to go, which were both delicious. This was our favorite meal on our trip! I hope to come back again someday.More
On a whim had an early dinner at Fish Bites. Found it in a strip mall and its easy to miss. Small place with only a few tables and a small bar area (excellent on spacing tables during this pandemic), but big on the quality...of the food. Wow, the best fish dinner I've had in Wilmington. Service is likewise very good and friendly. We'll be back for sure.More
We are locals who have seen a lot of seafood restaurants come and go through the years. We had heard a lot about this place and decided to try it out. I had the shrimp and grits, my wife had the steamer combo, they were...both great. Excellent key lime pie for dessert. Would definitely recommend.More
This has become a go-to for us. We typically enjoy lunch but recently went for dinner and agree that the quality and value far surpass other seafood restaurants in the area. We appreciate that you can order fish that is fresh, cooked simply and not...hidden by various toppings, sauces and add-ons. Even the coating on the fried options is very light. The sides are also straight-forward but very tasty. For lunch, the crabby sammie sandwich is my favorite. Eat with fork & knife and save the top of the homemade roll to eat on its own. It is delicious. Homemade chips and Sweet Thai sauce also very good. Seafood mac & cheese is delicious but very saucy. Local beer options always nice.
They created a small outdoor seating area this year and we highly recommend.More
This restaurant has amazing 😉 seafood. My daughter had the shrimp 🍤 and scallops pasta 🍝. My wife had the Mac and cheese with crab 🦀, shrimp 🦐 and lobster 🦞. I had the crab 🦀 sandwich with the homemade potato 🥔 chips. Everything was...amazing.More
My wife, teen daughter and I ate here for supper around 7 pm on Monday, 9/28, while staying in town on an East coast road trip. It's in a strip mall and actually is setup with some outside seating in the parking lot area. There...was no line, but pretty much every table was taken the whole time we were there. The daughter had the pasta alfredo, the wife had the fresh catch (mahi, blackened) with wild rice and coleslaw and I had the fried shrimp & oyster combo with coleslaw and veggies. While waiting for our entree's they brought out corn muffins which were awesome. The entrees were very good and portions were generous. All Covid precautions were being taken (masks, plexiglass between booth seating, etc.) Would highly recommend this restaurant for quality of food and value.More
This may be a little odd for a review but we were in Carolina Beach during the Covid lockdown and saw what a great job Fish Bites did at adopting to the new rules. Starting with a very successful take out business during the no...dine in period, they opened with new outside seating and clear barriers between the existing booths. The last time we ate there, we were in one of the outdoor tables. A little hot is July but great service and great food. I always do the fried clams and shrimp but everything is good. Also, they have a great value on the better wine (at least while we were there - I hope they keep it up.)More
Great food in a little strip mall. Seafood prepared top notch. My husband had the stuffed flounder, which was great, but I had the fish tacos (fried mahi mahi) and loved them even more! Very kind service as well.
