After living here going on 20 years, I heard about this gem but never ventured downtown to try it until today for take-out lunch. We had the beef/lamb gyro with french fries and the vegetarian combo. Both were prepared perfectly, tasty with no over seasoning/salt...and freshly made. The gyro meat was thinly sliced, juicy and flavorful. The vegetarian combo consisted of smooth hummus, tasty eggplant delight, crisp falafel and tender stuffed grape leaves with pita. All came to $20 with a friendly smile delivery to my car. We will definitely be back and recommend this family-owned restaurant highly ! They are take-out only due to Covid 19.More

Black Sea Grill is one of my favorite places to eat. The beef kabobs are wonderful! Highly recommended.

There are only about 8 tables in this eatery, so if you want to go you best make reservations (not kidding). The fresh trout was light and very delicious and the chicken kabab pieces were HUGE- so go hungry!

The sea bass we had was very delicious but the proprietor who was also the server was not very pleasant to deal with. Unfortunately, this was our first impression of the people of Wilmington.

First time in Wilmington. Stopped here for lunch and so glad I did. Very Nice owner couple. Chicken lemon soup very good. Gyro with house salad excellent. Very clean and comfortable. Restroom very clean. Highly recommend!! Good prices.

Went there on a rainy Halloween evening and had another wonderful dinner, and some delightful conversation with owner John. My wife had the chicken kebab & shrimp combo and I had the char-grilled grouper (both with the house salad & jasmine rice) and, as always,...our meals were fresh and utterly delicious. We finished with the scrumptious homemade kunfefe dessert that was well worth the detour from our diet. Black Sea Grill has become one of our absolute favorite places to dine in the Wilmington area and we look forward to returning soon. btw John, our previous review was also under NCLXM (which stands for NC League of Extraordinary MINIacs). Stopped in for dinner tonight while in the area. Small place with limited menu but lots of choices. My wife really liked her hummus and I thoroughly enjoyed the Turkish patties. We split the baklava, which was probably one of the best ones we had...in a restaurant anywhere. Not quite as good as the ones made by the old Greek ladies at the local church for their Greek Festival, but pretty damn close! Service was good and the prices are not all that bad for the area. Well worth stopping by but you might want to make a reservation because the place is not all that big.More

Lunch was wonderful here. I tried the kafta and my friend had a vegetarian sampler. The kafta came with a salad and rice, it had nice spices and flavor. I'd definitely eat that again!
