Tarentellis did not disappoint us in atmosphere, appetizers, or dessert. My husband and I went for our 25th anniversary dinner and shared the meatball appetizer, and a Caesar salad(both were excellent)b4 our entrees. Unfortunately both of our entrees(while huge in portion) were rather bland. I...ordered the Pappardelle with mushrooms, in a cream sauce, and hubs ordered Pappardelle with shrimp and sausage in a vodka sauce. Both were not very flavorful(not terrible, just not great.). In all, probably just as well that we didn't put a dent in our entrees, because then we wouldn't have had room to enjoy the two cannolis that the restaurant surprised us with(what a nice touch)! If we are ever in the area again, we will definitely go back, but will order something in their red sauce, which we know was delicious from our meatball appetizer!More

Hubby & I enjoyed a lovely dinner here this week. Negative takeaways (there were a few): It was hot outside in Wilmington this week and the restaurant offered no reprieve from the heat. It was uncomfortably warm inside at 7:00 pm. Also, initially the service...was less than attentive. Water served was not cold, nor was ice offered. Given the temperature of the restaurant, cold water was needed to refresh one’s self. Positive takeaways: Cocktails were good and the bartender certainly didn’t skimp on the pour. Bruschetta appetizer was delicious. Hubby & I both had the chicken parm and it was a large portion and very, very tasty. I thoroughly enjoyed the homemade pasta and the accompanying sauce. The chicken was crispy on the outside, juicy and flavorful. We highly recommend! The restaurant has a nice atmosphere. If we return, we definitely want to try the pasta served from the giant wheel of cheese. A nearby table ordered this and we were fascinated by the tableside presentation. Overall, we were impressed by the restaurant and thoroughly enjoyed our meal. We climbed into our Uber blissfully full and content in spite of the heat. We will most certainly return to this spot as the food was good enough to overcome the negative aspects of our visit. Compliments to the chef!More

Reservation for the bar, it was a bit cramped, but the food was delish and the bartenders were friendly. Rigatoni for be - the beshamel was divine. Special ravioli was also tasty! Would recommend, but wear your stretchy pants!

While visit Wilmington, NC I needed to find a nice place for our last dinner together with friends. This was the place!!! The food was delicious and the restaurant has a nice warm atmosphere. My homemade butternut squash raviolis with a brown butter/sage sauce and...sweet walnuts was awesome. I ordered the half portion which had over a dozen ravioli. It's a top notch restaurant that I highly recommend. Make your reservation way in advance so not to miss out getting a table.More

Disclaimer: superlative alert, gushing to follow. I've been fortunate to live long enough to have had a lot of great meals, not only around the country but around the world. We dined here the other night and I immediately realized it would be memorable as...one of the finest meals I have ever had anywhere. The wine list was terrific and I had a montepulciano I found to be delicious. But it was the appetizer that sent the meal on the path to greatness: a scallop dish in some kind of fig reduction. It was exquisite, the sweetness of the fig paste setting off and blending ingeniously with the natural flavor of fresh sea scallops. Other members of my family enjoyed a minestrone soup and meatballs as their appetizers. I and another family member each had the sausage fettuccine for our main courses, which we both loved -- really rich and creamy, but not overdoing it, just the right amount of richness to feel indulgent, and cut perfectly by the sliced sausage. A third family member had a delicious country vegetable dish that was offered either as a risotto or as a pasta, so she had it as a risotto and the meal was all the more enjoyable because of it. Incredibly, dinner wasn't even that expensive. Each entree was offered in a smaller-portion (lower-price) size, which was still more than we could eat, so we still wound up filling doggie bags for leftovers. In other words, we were paying $13-$14 a dish, and getting two meals out of each one. Pretty phenomenal for some of the best food we've ever had. The desserts provided a smashing finale to the dinner. I had the zeppelos (Italian doughnuts) which were fine, but better yet were the assorted gelati another family member got (she liked the espresso flavor best, I the pistachio), and best of all was another family member's order of molten chocolate cake. It was rich, gooey deliciousness, just a fantastic dessert. Every course of the meal here was magnificent, and as noted above it didn't even cost all that much. Wish we lived nearby so that we could go back regularly.More

So much jarred cheap garlic you taste nothing but garlic. A complete waste of a dinner experience. The man greeting us at the host station was surly and unfriendly….the waitress undertrained. The food itself seemed mismatched and thrown together. Ordered a meat and cheese plate...to start….no one told us the different cheeses and meats on the plate. Here is what I do know…. Italian meat and cheese is not a manchengo cheese, raisin bread, and calamata olives (these were some of the offerings on the plate) with blueberries and strawberries…those flavors don’t mix. Not a true Italian restaurant.More

Well, the food is amazing, that’s for sure. We came here to celebrate the birthday of my husband, who is 100% Sicilian. After extensive research we thought this would be most authentic. Dinner and service was good, but the ending ruined all. We finished dinner...just before closing, with guest still at the bar & decided to have birthday dessert and drinks. While enjoying, a man most likely the floor manager walked over staring at us afar, and then walked away. Immediately the music was suddenly cut, and he reappeared asking if we needed anything else because he was supposed to close the restaurant an hour ago. He then proceeded to guilt us into leaving immediately and that was the end To our celebratory dinner. Amazing dinner followed by awful management. My husband worked in the restaurant industry (in particular Italian cuisine in NYC) and this restaurant claiming they showcase an inviting atmosphere where guest feel at home, yeah not quite. At all. We were already planning our next visit at the end of the meal, but now have the most sour taste in our mouths. Again, the food was amazing, service pretty great but wow - we spend a fair amount on appetizers, special entrees, drinks, very nice wine, espresso, after dinner drinks, and dessert. And amidst enjoying our spending, yeah asked to leave. Ciao Tarantelli, you lost an authentic customer that loves to indulge, grazie for asking us to leave, we are gone forever.More

The husband and I dined for dinner. We split the Insalata Tarantelli, the Rigatoni Alla Bechamel, and of course, Tiramisu for dessert. It was all so delicious! And plenty of food to share. The service was excellent. A very pleasant experience. Highly recommend!

Enjoyed a lovely dinner with family, dining al fresco on the beautiful patio. And while I wouldn’t consider this a great place for kids, the toddler with us enjoyed her pizza. Our server, Danny, was friendly and helpful, offering his thoughts on the various food...options. Dinner began with terrific crusty bread served with herbed oil. Our entrees included the special of homemade ravioli with with shrimp, spinach, sundried tomatoes and pancetta in a garlic wine sauce with shaved fennel; shrimp fra Diablo, a rich and zippy sauce (definitely spicy), with good sized, perfectly cooked shrimp and al dente fettuccine (choice of pasta available). It’s a bit pricey but well worth the money. Will definitely return. This would be a great place for a graduation dinner or other special occasion, but perfectly wonderful for a couples or friends dinner.More

Our visit to this restaurant was to celebrate the birthday of our fourteen year old grandson. We went at his request to experience Terantellis’ Spaghetti al Fromaggio Parmigiana. The specialty of the house did not disappoint. Made with flamed whiskey (alcohol burns off) and aged...parmigiano reggiano cheese, at the table, it was fun to watch. The entree served two with leftovers to carry home. Happy memories went with them. The cheese wheel made an impression, as did the stories told during preparation. Others of the family ordered off the menu. Everything was delicious! A memorable celebration. Service was not hurried so we were able to savor everything. Well worth the splurge. This was certainly a post-COVID delight for all of us, but especially so for our grandson. It is great to experience dinner out when it is here!More

Had made reservations prior and glad, not realizing the annual marathon was being run that day. We were initially disappointed not being seated in the main dinning room, being reserved for a private party. Seating offered, outside patio or bar / lounge inside. We selected...inside. Covid protocols observed and practiced. The service was excellent. The food outstanding with positive comments by all. The Sicilian Brociol is rarely found on menus, and was exceptional. The Pasta e Verdure also a favorite.More

We've been looking for a fine Italian restaurant after eating at many mediocre ones. Friends recommended Tarantelli's so we finally tried it. Well it is exactly what we've been looking for. I started with the minestrone soup, because it was a cold night. I was...just hoping for something hot. What I got was the best minestrone soup I've ever tasted. Fresh herbs, a mix of vegetables and a broth so complex I wanted to soak it up with every last piece of bread. It was that good. And the bowl.was huge! For my entree I had fresh clams over pasta which was also excellent. My wife had the halibut and was very pleased. The wait staff was attentive without being intrusive. Tables were spaced and the sound level was tolerable, unlike so many other places. Overall a very enjoyable evening. The first of many to come!More

It’s usually not a problem. Lots of parking lots nearby and there is street parking also. Definitely worth a short walk to eat there!
