Had made reservations prior and glad, not realizing the annual marathon was being run that day. We were initially disappointed not being seated in the main dinning room, being reserved for a private party. Seating offered, outside patio or bar / lounge inside. We selected...inside. Covid protocols observed and practiced. The service was excellent. The food outstanding with positive comments by all. The Sicilian Brociol is rarely found on menus, and was exceptional. The Pasta e Verdure also a favorite.More

We've been looking for a fine Italian restaurant after eating at many mediocre ones. Friends recommended Tarantelli's so we finally tried it. Well it is exactly what we've been looking for. I started with the minestrone soup, because it was a cold night. I was...just hoping for something hot. What I got was the best minestrone soup I've ever tasted. Fresh herbs, a mix of vegetables and a broth so complex I wanted to soak it up with every last piece of bread. It was that good. And the bowl.was huge! For my entree I had fresh clams over pasta which was also excellent. My wife had the halibut and was very pleased. The wait staff was attentive without being intrusive. Tables were spaced and the sound level was tolerable, unlike so many other places. Overall a very enjoyable evening. The first of many to come!More

WOW!! Hidden gem in Wilmington NC can’t wait to go back My husband had the Waygu Steak and I had roasted garlic, sautéed jumbo red tail shrimp, sliced prosciutto, fresh sun-dried tomatoes, carbonara sauce and shaved asiago cheese with homemade delicious pasta! It was AMAZING....My husband said it was hands down one of the best steaks he ever had, superb and tender ....and he is a carnivore! Not to mention the beautiful rustic romantic atmosphere. Our waiter helped me decide between two dishes and was so friendly and promptly professional. We took the time to tell the manager how happy we were and to thank him, the chefs and staff for such a wonderful night. In crazy times of the pandemic everything down to the last detail was perfect and completely socially safe.More

One of the better Italian meals I’ve ever had (and I lived in Italy for six months)! My wife and I sat at a high top table in the bar. Nice ambiance. Terry, the bartender, was our waitress. She was fantastic. She gave us a...nice history of the restaurant. One could tell she loved the place. She was also very positive about the Wilmington area near there. A plus for the restaurant, in my opinion. Now for the food...my wife had the seared scallops with risotto. Says they were the best she’s ever had. The risotto was delicious and the asparagus was cooked perfectly. My meal was the veal Marsala over homemade pasta. WOW! quite a variety of mushrooms in the sauce. The sauce was rich and extremely flavorful. Veal was done right and the pasta, Perfectly al dente, as fresh pasta should be. Overall a wonderful meal and experience. Would highly recommend Tarantelli’s.More

We have been here once before and had a great meal. This last visit was not so great. We had reservations but had to wait ten minutes for a waiter and ten more to get a drink. It didn’t seem that busy but maybe they...needed more staff because the staff they did have seemed overwhelmed. The fettuccine dish with sausage was extremely oily and tasteless. My friend said her Marsala dish was nothing extraordinary either. The server was nice and polite but forgetful and/or overwhelmed. Overall it was disappointing compared to last years visit for us and the quality and portions are not meeting the prices they are charging. However I am glad the portion wasn’t bigger in lieu of the waste it would create. We also tried their special pasta in the cheese bowl but it honestly tasted like regular spaghetti bolognese but with inflated price and inflated space in the menu. Ending on a high note: the meatballs were tastyMore

Made online reservations so they knew we were coming. Staff seemed overwhelmed. Took 10 minutes to b greeted and it wasnt the waiter....another 10 for him....then another 10 for drinks to come...then 20 before we ordered. Food was ok...nothing to really brag about considering the...prices and all the hype we were not that impressed. Have had better food and taste at several other local restrants for less money and by far and above better service. Maybe it was just a off night but it will be awhile before we try again. And it definitely wont be in the summer rush if they are slow now.More

Have been going since they first opened and have been several times since. Always great service and food has always been delicious. Good Italian red wines. It's become our "go to restaurant " when we have company or just for a special night out with...friends.More

We had a wonderful date night meal, replete with a wonderful calamari appetizer, followed by a pistachio encrusted steak just melted in your mouth! My wife got an artichoke pizza and was very impressed. Although this is not budget-diner food, the prices were fair, and...not exorbitant. We will definitely visit again!More

Terrible service was unfortunate. Our waiter was rude and disinterested in our dining experience. He did not bring any bread to the table to start the meal. He did not have any positive recommendations for food choices and seemed irritated with our questions. The food...was very good. The spinach artichoke dip appetizer was amazing. Dish 1 was the shrimp and pasta in the spicy red sauce, my son likes hot but this was over powering spice for the dish. Dish 2 scallops with risotto, great and would order again. Dish 3 homemade 3 cheese ravioli, good but not great. Dish 4 was the chef special ravioli and short ribs, came with fetuccini sauce and husband went with red marinara instead. The broccoli rabe that was served with this dish was very tough and not eatable, we shared this with the waiter with no response and the dish my husband placed the uneatable vegetable on sat at our table for the entire meal. Unacceptable and gave to one of the other staff when our desert arrived. Desert was excellent, cannoli and tiramisu. We will probably return but will request any server but SY.More

lots of parking on side streets.... we walked around downtown. certain times when there are events it gets busy, same with weekends. Lots of places to pop in for a pre dinner drink or after dinner music when walking downtown. More
