Sunday night Birthday dinner, and even though we arrive at 5:45, the place is packed with a 30-40 minute wait! Lucky to find 2 seats at the tiny bar, we park ourselves and order a couple of drinks. Little did we know we were in for an amazing show. Sandi is tending the bar, and trust me, she is so talented she could do it with her eyes closed. She is the master of multi, multi tasking.....and yet, she makes everyone feel welcome and appreciated. I would return to Indochine just to watch her....but there is the food. We asked Sandi what her favorite dishes were, and while she was filling 2 or 3 orders, she suggested the dumpling sampler to start and then the Pad Ki Mao. We took her advice. The dumplings were yummy, but the Pad Ki Mao was outstanding. Even though hubby and I split the plates, we still ended up with a nice little box to take home.

I had lunch here (16 January 2021) with two friends. It was my first time here but my friends had dined here a few times before.
We had about a 20-minute wait, so we ordered a round of drinks and walked around the outside dining area. It was too cold to sit outside but I would like to go back when the weather is warm to enjoy the little Thai village that they created. Great atmosphere, decorated with Buddha’s, sculptures, various seating areas in huts, a tiki bar, and little gardens. Even the ladies restroom is decorated colorfully.
While their website mentions “…outdoor and limited indoor seating only,” every table inside was filled, so I didn’t think it was as ‘covid appropriate’ as compared to other restaurants I’ve been to. However, all of the staff wore masks and gloves, and everyone wore their masks coming into/out of the restaurant, so I didn’t feel uncomfortable.
It was quite the busy place and I can understand why. The food was marvelous! As we were here on a Saturday, we had to order off the dinner menu. We shared the Cha Gio, Vietnamese rolls filled with ground chicken, noodles and vegetables that came with a sweet dipping sauce and lettuce to wrap the rolls. The rolls were deep-fried and very tasty.
I had the Happy Asian Melody, which had chicken, shrimp, beef, and scallops in a dark soy sauce, along with plenty of vegetables; and rice. My friends ordered the shrimp and scallops in a nest; and the scallops with ginger. Both also had plenty of vegetables. Our meals came with a small Thai cabbage salad.
I was impressed with the portions of the entrees, in which I had leftovers for another meal.
Tam was our waitress. As this is a popular place and filled, service was on the slow side. Not a big deal, as we were enjoying our food and conversation.
I can’t wait to go back and try other items on their menu and dining outside.

This place has amazing food and service. Highly recommend you get these before they open, the wait times can be lengthy especially on the weekends. Also please go to the restaurant hungry, their portions are huge so plan on left overs. My wife had the Pad See U, she said it was delicious like normal. My daughter has the Hokkien Hot Noodles 🍝, she said it was the bomb 💣. I had the yellow curry 🍛 with duck 🦆, this is the best yellow curry I ever had.

I went with my husband, sister and family. First of all, was SO loud. They had seated us beside a big table with teenagers and between them and the ridiculously loud obnoxious music we could hardly hear let alone talk to each other. We ordered our drinks and when they came the waiter handed my nephew a glass. An adult sized glass. Put down the pipe and use your brain. My sister had to tell the waiter, He is a child, please bring a styrofoam cup. We all placed our dinner orders. Mine was very bland, cold and mushy. I had to ask three times for sauces to include the one with my meal. My husband’s meal was supposed to be mixed vegetables and steak and really turned out to be almost nothing but green bell pepper chunks that were raw at that. My brother in law sat there looking dumbfounded as he received no food what so ever. We had to practically run the waiter down and ask him Where is his food? The waiter left. Came back. Apologized that he had actually forgotten to place his order. Out of five people he was forgotten. When the dish was ready the manager brought it apologizing and offered him a free dessert as compensation. Again people, put down the pipe.TERRIBLE SERVICE and lack of care about their food quality, service or the lack there of I should say, and the ambiance was in the toilet and the toilet was broken. Continue to cater to tourists and college kids and you’ll be just fine Indochine. As for me and my family, we will serve ourselves to another restaurant. Peace Out.

The atmosphere was festive and the appetizer sampler was a fun way to try new food. I am allergic to shrimp and learned that most of their curry dishes have shrimp paste in the recipe. I tried yellow curry and it was just okay. There were way too many carrots in the curry dishes. Serving sizes were generous which made me feel a bit better about the cost until the waiter charged my daughter for adding a vegetable to her vegetarian meal. Seriously? The vegetarian curry was the same price as the curry dishes with meat.

This is sad because we ate in a month ago and it was good, we got delivery this time and it was a mess, i got the sweet and sour Shrimp and it was frozen store bought shrimp, not like the menu photo and its was $25! and they forgot the white rice, the Pad Thai portion was 1/2 the size as if you were seated, when we called and asked they stated "That's how we send it" I paid $61 for Pad Thai and frozen shrimp. I feel i got ripped off. I will not be going there again. I'll be looking for a better place to go.

We were in Wilmington and decided to try Indochine, and are we happy we did. We were warmly greeted and promptly seated. One thing that really stood out to us was as we were led to our table, everyone who worked there welcomed us...Wow! WE had a table overlooking the outdoor patio so we had a wonderful view. Our server was very friendly and helpful. We each ordered a different salad and our server 'encouraged' us to share. The food was beautifully presented (one with an orchid flower) and the fragrance of the various spices and sauces were wonderful. While the portions seemed large, we ate everything and did not feel overly stuffed after lunch. What a wonderful place, eclectic furnishings and warm, friendly staff. Cannot wait to go back. Please put this on your culinary list.

Went here for my 40 birthday. We were given a private tiki hut with what seemed like our own private server. Service was amazing, we never had to ask for anything. The menu is extensive but we choose a traditional Thai dish. The food was great( large portions) and customizable for our food allergies.
I would highly recommend especially if your looking for a unique ambiance and experience.

My family and I ate here in June 2021. First, our service was great especially since the restaurant was packed and our server was super busy with large parties. The appetizer sampler was excellent. as was the calamari and banana bloom salad. I wish we had stopped there because the rest of the meal was just okay.
The entree portions are very generous but most had little flavor. We sat outside in one of the huts and it was super humid even with a fan and the bugs ate us up and the flies swarmed our food.
When our waiter was boxing our food, his sweat dripped into the boxes so we threw it out when we got home.
I doubt we will return.

Our family visited on 7/31 to celebrate a birthday. The waitress did not write down our order for a party of five, but we stressed our kids had celiac disease. When the food came out we asked again if the entree was GF and were assured it was. We asked for the manager who confirmed the green duck curry prepared for us was NOT GF. Apparently the waitress failed to specify the food allergy to the chef. Also, the pad thai for my daughter had not been prepared GF. The manager offered to prepare both orders again GF but at that point there was no confidence. We just asked for to go boxes for the other three entrees which would have been cold if we waited for the other two entrees to be made over again. For some people a little discomfort occurs from cross contamination but my son is hypersensitive. Any exposure as we explained to the waitress and manager will cause his intestines to shut down. We rarely dine out but we have gotten GF takeout at Indochine several tines with no issues, so we were disappointed the inside restaurant service was such chaos. I recommend asking for a manager if you have a food allergy and not trusting your order to the wait staff. They definitely ruined our special occasion.

My friends and I arrived at the restaurant at 6 pm on Saturday 8/28/2021. We were celebrating a birthday. We were told the wait was an hour. We waited more than an hour and were told they were backed up and had only one cook. We finally were seated at 7:30 pm. The problem of waiting escalated after we were seated. Everything took so long and people who arrived before and after us were seated, received their food and then exited the restaurant while we sat and waited. We asked for a manager and Todd Accomando came to the table. Before we could say, we had been waiting for our food for a long time and we hadn't received our meal, he left and gave us our food. Todd never wanted to hear our concerns. We did have an amazing waitress by the name of Sandy. She did an excellent job in trying to meet our needs under stressful circumstances. She mentioned the manager would remove the appetizers and we would receive something off each bill. Of course the manager did not honor everything. We asked to speak to the manager again. Rob came and he was so rude and said some unkind words and then he unpleasantly said that we could leave if we weren't happy. The upsetting part is we tried to explain how long we were there, it was 10 pm and we were not happy with how they handled the situation. Rob got very arrogant and was trying to brush us off. He was offensive and said he did not want to deal with us. They each, Todd and Rob could have handled this with kindness and care. They chose not to do that! This was the worst experience.

We had dinner for party of 4 on a Sunday evening and arrived at 7 pm. They told us it would be a 90 minute wait and we waited expecting it to be less. That was not the case however, we got our table exactly 90 minutes from when we put our name on the list. We. had Deep Fried Coconut Shrimp, Shitake Dumplings, S;iicy Salmon Roll, Vegetable Roll, YellowCurry, PadThai Tofu and Sweet & Sour Shrimp. All were excellent. Due to our wait, we were starved and Sandi (our server) did an excellent job at getting our meal quickly. Sandi was also excellent in making recommendations for dinner options. She checked in frequently to make sure we were doing well. Even thought Resturant was packed and very very busy, Sandi served us like we were the only ones there. She was absolutely excellent and with the great food it was a very enjoyable evening!

I first visited Indochine 5 years ago. It was amazing then, and it never disappoints. I go every time I'm in Wilmington!
I wish they offered Fried Rice and a few more options at lunch because I always have to wait until dinner when it's much busier.
Portion sizes are good, it's a little overpriced though.

My husband and I used to eat here when we lived nearby 15+ years ago. Went back with my parents and teen boys this week. Atmosphere hasn't changed at all. Service was excellent. 3 of us ordered Pad Thai (pork and chicken) and it was so 'fishy' tasting that none of us could eat it. One son, who always orders Pad Thai when we go to Thai restaurants, says it was so bad he will never order Pad Thai anywhere again. The other dishes were OK but not spectacular. Pricey but portions are large.
As a side note, I ate lunch with friends at their sister restaurant the next day. I ordered Vietnamese crepes at the suggestion of a friend and again, the sauce served on the side was extremely fishy tasting and i could not eat it.

Had an early lunch while in area. Frankly, I was a little underwhelmed but my husband and daughter really enjoyed their meals so that's why I gave it four stars. I ordered the pho off the lunch menu and they ordered off the dinner menu. I wish the lunch menu had more options as the dinner menu is quite pricey. I was not blown away and have trouble seeing why everyone is so crazy about this place.
