Our third visit. This time with cousins from CA. Wonderful service, delicious food and visit with owner! We have never been disappointed and have gone out of our way to stop here to eat. I can’t imagine anyone not enjoying a meal here.

I stopped by for lunch on a Saturday. It is not too far off of 64. There is plenty of parking, and the neighborhood is decent. I had the brisket sandwich which was pretty good. The service was excellent. If you happen to be near...Williamston, the Red Heron is a pretty good choice.More

We stopped for lunch while driving through NC. We arrived after the main lunch time. There was only a couple of tables occupied and a private party in another room. However most of the tables had dirty dishes on them. Waitress was friendly but service...was slow. Food was delicious. By the time we finished, we were the only people left and the sole waitress had just about finished cleaning the other tables. Great place for a relaxed lunch.More

I really enjoyed my meal here, eating outside on the small pet-friendly patio. Top notch food for all my party. Right in the heart of this little southern town. I had a tender and well-seasoned pork chop. The portion size was large. Only complaint is...lack of staff and length of time to get food, but they are all friendly. The seating outside is minimal and we had to put three small round tables together to seat three adults and two dogs.More

On a Spring Break trip (from Seattle) to the Outer Banks, we stopped at this little home-town restaurant for dinner before heading to our halfway-there motel. What a great place! Unassuming, but comfortable, with Motown playing at a just-right level on the sound system, the...3 of us decided to order the specialty, pork chops. I've never encountered anything like this before, but there was a choice of several toppings. We each ordered a different sauce, and each was absolutely delicious--Parmesan garlic, Sweet BBQ, and mango jerk--fantastic, with super-tender meat. The sides were great, too, ranging from sweet potato fries, to broccoli, to mac salad, and more. Beer? Yes. The owner/chef came out and talked to us a bit, which added to the general pleasantness of this place. We are almost thinking of going back to NC just to eat here again! It was the best meal of our 10-day visit to the South!More

Off the beaten path and definitely worth the trip! I had a cheeseburger with chili and fries. The burger was freshly prepared by hand and cooked perfectly. This was not a mass produced frozen meal. The fries were fresh from frier and not greasy. Hubby...had a cheeseburger and onion rings. He was equally happy with his meal. The staff was friendly and attentive!More

Michael Herring and his wife Callie have brought big city cuisine to the town of Williamston. Their menu covers burgers, wraps, pasta, steaks and much more. Every meal I’ve had there has exceeded my expectations and I always look forward to my next visit. I’ve...tried pasta dishes. No Italian Restaurant could do better. I’ve had wraps and burgers. I know nowhere to get better. I’ve yet to go in hungry enough for a steak, but that day will come. My mouth is watering. For many of the dishes, flavoured sauces are available. This kicks everything up a notch. If you’re in Northeastern NC, you owe to yourself to visit the Red Heron Cafe.More

Mango jerk pork chop was wonderful. We were traveling to SC and wanted something besides fast food. Food was fast and healthy. The menu is a little complicated to understand.
