We stopped here based on the reviews. It is #1 in Williamston. It is close to the hotel we were staying at. It was good. I don't know if it deserves the number one spot. The service was good. The food was decent. My prime rib was done more than I had wanted, but not bad. Wife's food was OK.... More

The Hitchin' Post is one of the few places to get a decent meal in Williamston. Everything is OK--the decor, the service, and the food. Wine selection is minimal.

Dinner at the Hitch'n Post which was a real treat. They had a buffet that included a wide array of foods and everything we ate was fantastic. My husband said it was the best fried catfish he'd ever had and the unsweet tea was the best in the South! Emily was our waitress and she was extremely attentive and friendly,... More

We went for lunch while on the road. Decided to get the salad bar. There was a lot on the salad bar. We also ordered the shrimp from the light fare menu. It was very greasy. Would not get that again.

Wow. What a gem we found on our trip, just passing through. The lunch buufet was fabulous.the fried chicken was juicy and non-greasy. The service was really friendly and efficient.

My family ate dinner at the hitching post while staying the night in Williamston. I had the buffet and sampled about everything, and liked it all. The fried chicken, BBQ ribs & Mac n cheese were fantastic. My kids got pasta dishes and everyone cleaned their plates so it must have been good.

If you read my reviews you know I don't care for buffets. But I tend to cater to my family's request. This was good home cooked food, but it was your basic. Mac n cheese fried chicken etc. The pop corn shrimp was very good . The service was also very good. I'm sure we will be back as my... More

My husband and I decided to have dinner here for our anniversary, since we were from out of town, and this looked like a nice place. We were seated almost immediately, and our waitress took our drink orders. We were happy to see that there was prime rib on the menu, and I got the small cut, while my husband got... More

Stopped here on the way down to Emerald Isle. Nice atmosphere, good service, good food, large proportions, very reasonable prices. A nice family owned place for a decent family meal without breaking the bank.

This is what you expect right by the name on the door, country cook'in in a relaxed country atmosphere. Southern food fare, as the old folks use to say "it will stick to your ribs."
