I dined with a group for a retirement luncheon. The buffet wasn't fully stocked so many of us had to wait for the kitchen to catch up. The food was good once we finally got it.

We left the Outer Banks and needed to stop for lunch. This place surprised me, the scallops were grilled just right and the service was top notch. I recommend the Hitching Post to anyone.

Used to be the best place to eat until tonight. We ate there at least twice a week driving from plymouth. There were 4 of us in our party tonight and 3 out of the four plates was wrong. I ordered a hamburger with lettuce, tomatoe and bacon and did not order chilly but got it on my hamburger! My friend... More

We first ate here on the way to the OBX and it was so good we stopped again on the way home. My husband ate off the buffet and the kids and I ordered sandwiches and chicken tenders. Good food at a good price. Our waitress both times was very attentive.

We stopped by on way to Outer Banks from Raleigh over noon hour on a Sunday not knowing what we would find. Busy place with mostly local traffic but got seated quickly despite crowd. Enjoyed variety of North Carolina home cooking on the buffet with good service and lots of sweet tea. Only disappointment was quality of desserts. Price extremely... More

We stopped here based on the reviews. It is #1 in Williamston. It is close to the hotel we were staying at. It was good. I don't know if it deserves the number one spot. The service was good. The food was decent. My prime rib was done more than I had wanted, but not bad. Wife's food was OK.... More

The Hitchin' Post is one of the few places to get a decent meal in Williamston. Everything is OK--the decor, the service, and the food. Wine selection is minimal.

Dinner at the Hitch'n Post which was a real treat. They had a buffet that included a wide array of foods and everything we ate was fantastic. My husband said it was the best fried catfish he'd ever had and the unsweet tea was the best in the South! Emily was our waitress and she was extremely attentive and friendly,... More
