My son and I used to go to this diner often and rarely had a problem. Today however, was very poor customer service. I placed my order online so I wouldn't have to order and wait when I got there and still had to wait...when I got there. Two women walked by me twice as three women stood at the grill talking. One young lady just stood there looking at me. I wasn't greeted. Once someone did acknowledge me I told her I had an online order she picked up a bag, checked the ticket then asked me was it paid for. I said yes ma'am had it not been I would have walked back out the door. I will not EVER go back! EVERMore

After being deprived of comforting southern breakfast for the past 3 years due to living in America's Siberia, aka North Dakota, we finally made it back for a visit to the homeland of Holy Grits. We stopped at the Coffee House in North Wilkesboro on...Sparta Rd, but since there's no tripadvisor entry for that location, we might as well sing our praises here. The decoration is what you expect from a southern diner where you know the food is deliciously soul-nurturing because the interior is the antithesis to hipster culture. The folks of the Coffee House know where to put their energy - and that is to provide good southern food. No frills seating, but the food knocks you just about off that worn-out booth. The grits are just what you expect them to be in an establishment like the Coffee House - no words can describe it. It's a mystery to us why the great white northern prairie does not do grits. Perhaps the Coffee House should consider a franchise location in North Dakota. Bottom line: Visit the Coffee House if you're deprived of southern cooking for whatever reason - you will not regret it!More

Stopped here for a cup of coffee and decided to have a meal also. Very friendly staff. Quick service. Great hash browns. If you’re looking for a “diner” style spot to grab a bite-this is it!

Traveling back up North, hungry and wanting breakfast, stopped here for a bit to eat. The place was ok clean and staff was friendly. I’m a vegetarian so there wasn’t a lot for me but I ordered scrambled eggs and toast with hash browns. Eggs...were delicious but hashbrowns were wayyyyy over cooked. The kids loved their bacon and eggs and toast while my hubby loved the liver mush and coffee. Would definitely recommended for a quick stop for breakfast :)More

Leaving Boone NC and heading east on 421 we decided to stop in at a coffee shop we had seen before but never stopped in. It was 7:30 Sunday morning and the place was already three quarters full. That's a good sign. It was pretty...clean, and the waitress, hostess, cashier got us our menus and took our order after five or ten minutes. The reason I mention the time is because this poor girl was all by herself. There was her, one guy bussing tables, and the cook. So she got our water and coffee to the table quickly before running off to do ten other things for other guests. The food came much faster than I had expected, brought by the jack of all trades waitress with a big smile! We both had the special, two eggs, sausage patties, and biscuits and gravy. It was all really good and cooked the way we had asked. Breakfast with coffee was a whopping $12.91. Good food, excellent service, and a smiling waitress. We'll be back again...and again...More

This was my second visit to the Coffee House and my breakfast was great. Biscuits and gravy with sausage and eggs was the special.......including coffee, cost less than the golden arches and tasted much better. I have driven by many times but it will now...be a regular stop when I am in the area. Wait staff was very friendly and efficient so what more could you ask for........!!More

We went for breakfast and the food was good. It wasn't anything out of the ordinary though. The food is priced okay for what you get. They do have good service and quite a bit of variety on the menu. Ask for the 2 egg...omelet. They also offer a Senior Citizen discount if you're over 60.More

Just had breakfast at the Coffee House and Waffle Shop. It has to be the worst piece of beef I have ever had. It had an odd and half rotten smell - I unfortunately took a small bite, too. It was definitely no longer good...meat. The eggs were OK but the experience was simply gross. Not only was the food bad, but when we mentioned that the meat might have been over its fresh days, they did nothing about it.More
