It’s a difficult time for restaurants that we understand. Fortunately, the food is excellent!! Steak cooked exactly as requested. Flounder not greasy & thick. Deviled Crab just like ones we love, but rarely find. We will return!!

I have wanted to dine here for years. Finally, two of my cousins joined my husband and me on 12-28-23 for dinner. We were waiting when the restaurant opened at 4:00p.m. Right away one of the servers informed us that the owner had a family problem to deal with and was running late. Next, the there was a problem with the fryer, but that was eventually corrected. Next, the salad bar was not ready; in fact I never did see the cucumbers, but it was a pretty salad bar when it was ready. Our server was very friendly and proficient. One of my cousins ordered the oysters and she was not very happy with them. My other cousin ordered the large clam strips which she said were just "okay." I ordered a ribeye steak (medium well, pink) and baked potato and garlic toast. When I was served, I thought the steak had been burnt to a crisp, but it was the special dry marinade the owner uses on steaks. I cut into it and it was actually tender and pink. My husband ordered the same thing as I ordered and his steak was tough as leather and inedible. The one item we all agreed was wonderful was the huge baked potato which was perfectly done inside! There were no desserts, or if there were, we were not offered any. I ordered a Dr. Pepper because the server said their sweet tea was very, very sweet. The other three at our table ordered tea, but my husband ordered it half & half. I would not ever return for an entree, but only a baked potato and salad. We were very cold in the restaurant and glad we had our hoodies and vests on. The total for mine and my husbands bill was about $60.40 plus $10.92 tip. I think $71.32 for two people was ridiculously high, especially when one steak was inedible. We were not asked if we enjoyed our meal when we paid. Doubtful we will ever return.

Stopped in for dinner while driving up the Parkway. The joint got crowded. We luckily made it in while the restaurant was still empty. It filled up completely within about 20 minutes. We all enjoyed our food. Food came out quickly, plenty of quality checks. Friendly enough service. No alcohol, though. Dry country.

We get the large platter and split it when we go! The fish is always delicious and the baked potato and salad bar are always fresh and tasty. My children have gotten hamburgers and chicken fingers and liked them both. There are a lot of options on the menu, something for everyone.

Wonderful food and wonderful service. Dont listen to the bad reviews on here those people obviously do not know good food at a great price. We got there at 6 done by 6:40 for 47 bucks for 2 people with left overs for lunch.

A great place to have a good meal. I had calabas shrimp and my husband had the trout. As usual all was delicious and you kow that is why it is a favorite with locals. Come casual and enjoy good cooking. The owner is always. there to greet you and the ladies are pleasant and accomodating. Good food at a reasonable price. Their hush puppies are the best anywhere!

LSS: I should pay with my HSA when I come here, because a visit is therapeutic. When so many places are no where near their pre-COVID glory, if they still exist at all, it's refreshing to have one that still doesn't disappoint. Plus, they kept the salad bar! No one else that I know of around here still has one. It's worth the drive just for that.

The service was not good. The food was mediocre. The restaurant was dated and not very clean. I've never had a waitress be so unprofessional.

cooking then this is the place for you. I ordered trout, they ran out, then hubby ordered a chicken breast, ran out, ok, they only open at 4:30, we got their at 7:30, I find it hard to believe they ran out. If you want anything grilled or broiled they charge you extra, and you had to pay extra because I actually wanted veggies with me dinner which tasted frozen from a bag. The waitress was super friendly, but the place is very dated, floors were dirty and salad bar was lacking in greens. I can say we won't be stopping again.
