This restaurant is so good we ate there twice. They had the best shrimp and grits that I have ever had. My boys loved their chicken tenders. They have a firecracker burger that not only looks amazing but tastes amazing. They have 22 beers on...tap. The staff was super friendly and the service was great. They strictly observed social distancing. No tables were seated near one another. They purposely left tables open (even though there were customers waiting they could have put there) to observe proper guidelines. If you are in the area this is a place you must go to. You will not be disappointed!!!More

It's obvious from the moment that you walk in the door that they are taking Health & Safety seriously. We really appreciate this! Danielle gave amazing service from the second that she greeted us...which is hard to do in these weird Pandemic times. She gave...us the time we needed to make decisions, stopping by frequently without making us feel rushed. She suggested a delicious beer when I couldn't make a decision. We did have one issue and she took care to resolve it quickly. And at the end of the meal, offered up a couple of suggestions for places to hike. Give her ALL of the rewards because she deserves them! The food was exceptional. The fried pepperonis on the trio appetizer - delicious. My son had the Firecracker Shrimp as his meal - OMG delicious. My oldest had fettuccine Alfredo with shrimp - what a perfect sauce. And the garlic bread tastes as good as it smells! The Gyro plate was really good - especially the chicken! The BIG winner was the Mono Kreas(?) pizza/pie. It was freaking amazing! My husband ordered it by accident and we were so happy with his mistake.More

My husband and I took a quick trip to Weaverville today for a change of scenery. We stopped for lunch at the Twisted Laurel and had THE most delightful lunch! Our server, Isaac, had such a joyful attitude that added to our experience. The hubs...had the turkey and Brie sandwich and I had the chicken gyro. Both were absolutely delicious! The hubs particularly loved the rustic cut French fries. But the crown jewel in today’s lunch was the German chocolate cake (a spot on recommendation by Isaac). That cake was THE most amazing German chocolate cake I’ve ever had! And it’s made by a local lady from her grandma’s recipe. We’d love to transplant this fantastic restaurant an hour down the road to our hometown. We’ll definitely be coming back to Weaverville, even if just to eat at The Twisted Laurel!More

What a great experience! We loved this place! Fantastic piped in music too. I had the lamb gyro platter and loved it. My friends had the Greek salad but felt the dressing needed more vinegar. They shared the cheeseburger and loved it!!!And we all pigged...out on the yummy homemade French fries! It was my birthday and the darling server brought me a slice of homemade German chocolate cake.. was a killer!! We had a great time here... enjoy it and get in the spirit!!!More

Weaverville has few options, and Twisted Laurel was always a go-to. But over the past year, the menu offers fewer and fewer choices. My husband and I have been out of town for four months, and came back to TL last night. The good pasta...dishes are completely gone, and what we got was bad. Menu is short, food is not good at all. They know how to provide really good food - the menu at the downtown location is totally different, and the food is excellent. The owners figured out that Weaverville has few options, and people don't have a lot of choice. They have more competition downtown, so have to step up the game. We used to go once a week, but now won't eat there again. We might go for a beer, if the unfriendly girl at the front door will allow it. I hate the downward slide. From now on, we'll go to another place in W'ville or drive to Asheville when we go out to eat.More

Friendly staff and good food. Mostly quick notes and some entrees. Wish I could have tried one of the stone baked pizzas. Nice bar selection of beers and wines. Outdoor eating.

We got there at noon and were seated outside. It took about ten minutes before a server arrived. We ordered the twisted trio appetizer. . Not good - burnt pepperoni, burnt cheese curds, and cheese filled garlic knots that were good. Our drinks arrived ten...minutes after the twisted trio app was delivered. I could have used something to get the burnt pepperoni taste out of my mouth. We ordered the brunch items - nothing that should have taken long We noticed several tables that arrived after we did get their food, pay and leave before we were served. I don't like to complain as everyone make mistakes and I don't think that this young lady had been trained as a server. I think that she was a hostess. After over an hour I went to check on our food at the hostess stand. After talking to the hostess I noticed our waitress bringing out the food. It took her three trips and five minutes to get our food to the table. No one helped her. I order shrimp and grits. The food on one side of the plate was warm and cold on the other. It was like it was half way under a heat lamp for a long time. The description of the menu item listed country ham. I thought that this was different for a shrimp and grit dish and this is why I ordered the item. There was no country ham in the dish. At first I thought that it might have been incorporated in the sauce or dice up finely with the onions and peppers. Believe me no country ham came within a mile of this dish. My wife ordered the sausage and gravy dish. Her gravy and biscuits were cold, very cold. Her sausage and eggs were fine. One of my daughters order the same thing with bacon. Again the sausage and gravy was cold. The bacon was good and the eggs were cooked correctly. Two in my party ordered the chicken and waffles. One ate her dish although she said the syrup was not very good and the chicken dry. The other guest did no touch his chicken and waffles because the chicken was under cooked. We finally got refills on our drinks right before we were leaving at 1:30 PM. I still tipped the server $15. I would have normally tipped 30% - $30 . Never saw a manager. i felt sorry for the server as she was not trained and had no management support. Someone should have seen us setting there for over an hour without being served.More
