Twice we have visited here on a trip to Weaverville. Both times were awesome. I highly recommend it.

Was here for dinner with family recently. The house cabernet was very good. The atmosphere was enjoyable and service was very good. Ordered ribeye, rabbit and eggplant rollatini. The ribeye was fatty/grisly but flavorful, rabbit was ok and the eggplant was stringy. We did not complain or mention as this was a special occasion and did not want to take... More
Excellent food, creative dishes, tastefully presented. Portions were a little small for some of the dishes. But we definitely intend to come back!! Waitress was accommodating and helpful. Another note here: Tables are arranged very tightly together so be prepared to get friendly and cozy with your neighbors at the next table ;-)
We enjoyed an unexpected but fabulous meal at the Glass Onion Italian eatery. This small yet elegant restaurant offers exceptional appetizers (Graham crusted calamari, truffle fries, goat cheese/fig salad) as well as outstanding entrée items (good portion size). The service is great - attentive without being intrusive. Give this lovely restaurant a try.
We joined some friends for dinner Saturday night and were seated right at the time of our 7:30 reservation. Our server immediately came to take our drink orders and tell us about the specials. Since we observed that others had rather generous portions my husband and I split a salad and entree (ribeye steak.) There was more than enough to... More
My friend and I ate here on a Wednesday evening, the day after Valentine's Day. The whole meal was excellent, from beginning to end. Our waiter (his name was Lee) was an exceptionally attentive, but unobtrusive aid to our meal. I really enjoyed his alertness and high level of competence. We were debating our wine choice, and he opened bottles... More
Interesting menu, ala carte,.....frightening prices. Exoctic foods, but nothing to balance for people who don't choose their choice of what's good. Anyone who goes to this establishment needs to hope they change the menu, soon. I guess they choose not to have the locals with no expense account come for dinner.
Norm here. The quality of the food is high quality, but somewhat overpriced. The deserts are unmatched anywhere. The service is rather slow due to what I believe is understaffing. The woman with whom I dine raves about both the food and service and she's the primary reason I visit this city. Perhaps, it's just the chemistry, but the server... More
My sister and I stopped into the Glass Onion for lunch after a nice stroll down Main St Weaverville. We'd found everything in Weaverville very pleasant and reasonable priced so I didn't much pay attention to the prices when we ordered. We both had a very pleasant salad each and a two small tasty mains with no beverages. Service was... More
