We have been visiting and staying in the campground ,eating at the restaurant for 30 years. What a disappointment this last trip there was. We meant with our children at the campground to stay 4 nights and our kids planned an anniversary dinner for us...at the restaurant. My daughter-in-law made the reservation a month before we were supposed to go there. It was a real nosebleed!!!!!! They have so many rules and stipulations for eating there. A charge of$15 per person is applied to your credit card if you are 15 minutes late or don't show up. When they saw we had 4 children they really treated us poorly. We were not able to sit at the same table . They split us up.4people at one table and 6at Another. One adult had to sit with the kids. The food was horrible. I ordered their famous fried chicken. When it came it was 2 pieces of chicken on a dinner plate and that was all.I did get a small salad on the side. The prices are really, really high for what you get. So disappointed . This restaurant use to be fantastic. Such a great treat. It has really gone down . Think maybe they have new people running it., The hostess was extremely rude. Our waitress was the only pleasant thing about the meal. She was so nice. Will n ever go there again.More

We had Kalan as our waitress and she was a wonderful waitress! She mentioned the chef’s special and we both ordered this amazing dish. Crabmeat stuffed in a mountain trout with a jalapeño shrimp cream sauce. Trout was cooked to perfection! Can’t wait for more...meals at this breathtaking location!More

We used to love eating here but this year they have more than doubled their prices on a lot of menu items. Example, French Onion Soup was$ 5 now $11. The reservation page asked if there was a special occasion for this visit. Yes, it...was both husband and wife birthdays. However they do absolutely nothing for that. We even inquired and was told “no”. So why ask? Now the food. Used to be great. This time not so much. French fries were cold and hard as rocks. We didn’t/couldn’t even eat them. Chicken was overcooked and dry. Very disappointed. Husband ordered appetizer but it was forgotten. Had to ask about it and it was brought out after the meals were over. Aren’t appetizers supposed to be served before the meal??? Also the air conditioning was set way too low. Everyone was putting on jackets or rubbing the cold chills on their arms. I’m sure the temp was good for the cooks in the kitchen but what about the paying guests? Huge disappointment.More

We have been coming here for years and the food is always great and of course the view. This time we both had a pasta dish with white cream sauce. It came with a very nice salad and we shared the French Onion soup. Staff...is friendly and our server was attentive. We called earlier for a reservation and there was no problem, we had a table with a perfect view. Be back in fall!More

I don’t understand why on a Monday reservations is the only to get food. They referred us to the next room over to get a pre made sandwich. We won’t stop again.

I ordered the Turkey, Brie and Apple wrap with cranberry mayo for lunch today. It turned out to be turkey luncheon meat, one small slice of brie, and two tiny apple pieces on one half. I had to ask for some mayo to help with...the dryness of the wrap. Needless to say, I didn't eat the other half and in fact didn't bother to take it home. Price was $18.95 plus tax and gratuity. I have dined there before Covid, and it was good. Looks like things have gone downhill at this restaurant.More

My wife and I were tooling down the Blue Ridge Parkway for our 33rd wedding anniversary and decided to call and get a reservation for the Pisgah Inn Restaurant. We were lucky and got a reservation and were seated. The menus were presented by a...delightful young lady named Sara and the selection was very, very surprising. The prices were a little high but we were expecting that due to the location and the view but WOW! The food came and it was top notch! My wife got the Beet Salad and I just got the hamburger and both were excellently prepared and presented. We also got the French Silk pie and a cup of coffee to share and they were both wonderful. Sometimes these types of restaurants get people only because of the view. Not the Pisgah Inn Restaurant! It is worth getting the reservation and it is definitely worth the money. Oh, and the view ain't bad either! :)More

Located in the national park service lodge it is charming and rustic. The menu is varied offering vegetarian dishes and country favorites including mountain trout. They have a decent wine list and beer no full bar. Service was fine. A special shout out to the...assistant manager who never stopped bussing tables seating people and generally watching over the dining room. The View is spectacularMore

The food is good, views great, but watch out for the two women on the front desk. They set a bad tone. They were enjoying telling folks without a reservation to go away, and they must be from some other city where rudeness is a...character trait. I felt sorry for the others who were treated so badly. They can’t be from this lovely state. The Bible talks about the gift of hospitality; those two definitely do not have it.More

Really lovely Inn off the Blue ridge Pkwy. I was impressed how they had kept up with current snacks and food in their to go cafe, and it was nicely painted and didn’t look dated to me. Of course it was built in the 1970’s...most probably but the woodwork was just beautiful and they had built a gorgeous observation deck. Unfortunately it rained our whole visit but our sever made it so pleasant , even though the fog kept us from the view. I got the veggie burger with seasonal pumpkin soup, and my husband got the fried chicken with mashed potatoes. We finished the meal with blackberry cobbler. We loved everything and will definitely return for a stay in hopefully better weather!More

Definitely a planned destination because you have to make a reservation. It's a bit of a drive from Waynesville. The view is fantastic, of course, but you can enjoy that without eating at the restaurant. The food is good, but we found our server to...be abrupt. I ordered a half portion of meat loaf (which is very tasty) and she brought me a whole portion. I told her I'd ordered half (I'm not a big eater) and she said she would inform the kitchen and she left. I took this to mean she would adjust my bill, but instead the manager came out to take my plate, which I had already started eating. The manager said the server heard me order a full order, although everyone at my table heard me say half. Good customer service is taking the customer's word over the staff! I brought the other half of my meal home, along with my disappointment in the way the situation was handled. We will not return.More

I don’t get the negative reviews. I had dinner here twice and breakfast once. All three servers were amazing, the best I’ve had in a while. I found the food to be very good, sort of surprising for a place that is the only option...for 20 miles. I could not have asked for more. I got the managers card and plan to email her kind words. In the days of COVID when service has tanked too often, this was a gem.More

There is not a bar. They do sell beer and wine by the glass at the check-in counter for the restaurant, though, so you can have something while you wait for your table (restaurant is first come first serve, no reservations)
