Was in Surf City overnight to meet a repair crew the next day and walked to Beauchaines for dinner, curious to see how things were going as the new season got underway. I ordered a wedge salad and salmon. The salmon was cooked in parchment...with basil. Great taste, moist, a little crust on the salmon. Excellent from my perspective. Salad was also very well done. Look forward to going back.More

This restaurant is amazing! The menu is fresh and imaginative, the food is full of flavor with quality fresh ingredients. I have seen some of these recent negative reviews and don't even know what to say!!!???? We are generally pretty picky and this is the...best (by far) on the Island (and off the island for that matter). This is a local favorite that keeps getting better and better. Please give it a chance and you will be impressed and you will keep coming back.More

We visited beauchaines after seeing it recommended on local topsail FB groups. The food was good. The menu is very limited though, 2 appetizers, 2 salads, only 5 entrees and 2 kids menu choices. We went on a Thursday, party of 6 with no reservations....We had to wait about 30 minutes which I understand given COVID 19 capacity restrictions. It seemed that the only people working the floor were teenagers, so that could have been part of the service issue. We were given a very small table that, granted, did have 6 seats but we were very crowded. All the guests, even the small children were served drinks out of wine glasses. We all had water glasses, plus our ordered beverages so our small table was over crowded right from the start. I’m pretty sure this had to be one of the servers first days, so we tried to be kind and understanding. He seemed very flustered. We asked for straws 3x’s before the waiter remembered to bring them and we had to ask twice for him to remove glasses and plates that weren’t being used. He never brought the sweetener one guest asked for. He forgot to tell us the specials until asked and then told them to us incorrectly. One guest ordered a special only to be told it wasn’t a steak tenderloin, it was pork! The wait was incredibly long for our appetizers, which were good but very small portions. The bread was unappetizing cold rolls with no butter. The kids options were very limited but the portions were good. The waiter did not write down our order and one guests requests for no onions and peppers was forgotten. By this point we had been there for close to 2 hours, so we just went with it. Overall, good food, overpriced and terrible service. I wouldn’t go back until they had their staff better trained.More

Before visiting Topsail Island, we researched fine dining in the area and Beauchaines 211's website looked amazing and we made reservations. When the night arrived, we donned nice clothes and anticipated a meal that we thought would be memorable. It definitely was memorable but not...in a good way. I ordered the wedge salad and was informed they do not have ranch dressing, What restaurant doesn't carry ranch? The only option is blue cheese, so I settled for what they had. The salad was very good, just too much blue cheese! Then the entrees arrived and visually they were appealing and my wife's stuffed flounder was in her words, "Not the worst I have eaten." Now, on to the filet oscar, I eagerly began "trying" to cut what should have been a buttery reddish pink cut of meat, however, it was a task to even remove a bite-sized piece with a steak knife. The colour of the filet was a greyish brown, which I tried to ignore. Upon, trying to chew the first piece, no amount of mastication could make that possible, ultimately I removed the bolus from my mouth and returned it to plate with a taste in my mouth that was highly unpleasant. I pushed my plate away and tried to drown my palate in wine. I was offered a replacement steak but at this point I was so stomach turned, that the thought of another bite was just too much. For such an expensive establishment, I expected near perfection, which was missed by a mile.More

Teenage staff girls had masks loosely over their mouth and not at all over their noses. On had the mask under her chin when picking up our food in the kitchen and severing it to us at the table! Knowing who got the well done...plate meant they had to go back to the kitchen and ask which plate was which. Warning: Two of agreed that the shrimp and grits had enough salt to make up a monthly allowance. I would not have eaten it at all but I didn’t want to embarrass my dinner host. I won’t be back.More

Last Saturday I had the most delicious meal ever at Beauchaines. The new chef is awesome! I've gone to Beauchaines every year now since the 80s and it just keeps getting better and better! Shrimp & Grits, Salmon Papillote...yum

We’ve been dining for years here-nice views, friendly staff but the food has become very average with not very much change to the menu. Curious that a restaurant near the ocean only offered 1 fresh seafood.

What a disappointing experience!!!!! We have been patrons of this restaurant for many many years. Tonight was a disappointment of epic portion. It started with sitting down at our table. There was water in my chair that soaked my pants. I did not see it...nor obviously anyone working at the restaurant before I sat down. After I sat there there uncomfortable and moved the wet chair myself to get a dry one no seem to notice until after I moved the chair. Our entree of stuffed flounder was very mediocre. I waited a very long time to have my water glass filled. It’s like avoid our table because we were not happy. No compensation was offered to me for having a very uncomfortable experience. It ruined our whole evening !!More

We were looking for a nice restaurant to finish up a mini retreat. From the outside it looks like a beach from restaurant, but as soon as you walk in it becomes elegant. The food was pricey but it was EXCELLENT. The staff was friendly...and very attentive. The atmosphere was charming enough for a special dinner, or a night out with a group of friends. I really enjoyed the shrimp and grits (a local specialty). I will definitely be returning there in my next visit to Topsail IslandMore
