Very good food but a little pricey for the quantity. I recommend sitting at the bar, if possible, to watch the chefs work as it is very entertaining. Menu choices were good as was the wine list. We will eat there again when in the area and recommend.

This restaurant is in Spruce Pine, just off the Blue Ridge Parkway. A beautiful setting, & chef/owner Nate Allen uses locally sourced products, with a great wine list. For lunch we had Cucumber Gazpacho, followed by Roasted Eggplant, ratatouille purée, sliced cherry tomatoes & basil. The Grilled Trout Sandwich, with crispy potatoes was also good. We sat at the bar,... More

Let me start with first impressions. Cold ambiance, industrial setting (therefore noisy). Lunch: 7 menu items, 4 salads and 3 sandwiches (and that counts the scrapple sandwich). No soft drinks, only beer, wine, tea, water. Long wait for food (to be fair a table of 12 probably jammed them up). That being said, the food was excellent. Crispy potatoes with... More

We were traveling to Bakersville to an AirBnB cabin and were looking forward to the seclusion and simpleness of these quiet towns. Never did we think that we would find a restaurant like this tucked away in the Blue Ridge! This restaurant was an absolute delight! I loved the concept of dining room, kitchen, produce all being in one room... More

Short menu is a tip of the hat to what are clearly fresh ingredients. Mushrooms on toast app, tasted like a delicacy. My husband requested a tomato on his f&k burger and was told they were out. No fresh tomatoes in October in NC???? Only ONE man working the entire floor. Waited at least 15 minutes to be brought a... More

Since our visit last year, the Knife and Fork has moved a couple of doors down. We preferred the ambience of the old digs. The new venue is loud and "industrial". If the weather is nice, I suggest sitting outside. With that said, however, the quality of the food and creativity of the cuisine is exceptional. The specialty is "farm... More

Knife and Fork is an "eating experience" in Spruce Pine NC. It is a lovely white tablecloth restaurant utilizing locally grown organic foods which is beautifully prepared and presented for a dining experience.

Fabulous is insufficient praise for this farm to table find in sleepy (but awakening) Spruce Pine, NC. Lovely to look at if you like a rather raw environment with an open kitchen and heartily dedicated staff. The menu changes daily. I feasted on an open-faced roast beef sandwich with Gruyere, shiitakes, and a sunny side up egg on top. Perfect.... More

I was visiting a friend in Spruce Pine when he received a call that he needed to make a quick delivery of fresh produce to Nate, the owner of Knife & Fork. I watched as my friend gathered the goods and made the delivery. Intrigued I had to go there for dinner and then again for Brunch the next morning.... More

I've been the past few years on my annual trip for Sunday Brunch. You should get reservations because walk ins are often turned away. For Spruce Pine, NC this place is a clear standout above and beyond anything in the area. The food is farm to table and worth a trip to county just to eat there.
