Yes, it’s at the other end of a gas station, but the grilled sandwiches are varied and named after all sorts of golf-related items. Great lunch — the Wedgie is my favorite.

This is just a neat little place to grap a hot sandwich. Consistent and unique. You wouldn't know exists as its next to a gas station but it easily beats fast food.

The "wedgie" sandwich consists to pizza dough "bread" and a long list of filling options. The original Italian is juicy and meaty. The place seems to be very busy, but the food is delivered in a reasonable time. Seating is a challenge at lunch time,...but outside is an option is good weather.More

I waited 30 minutes for a single sandwich combo, they then tried to not give me my side I paid for. Once gotten and got to eat it, it smelled bad and now I know why they didn’t want to give it to me. I...was overcharged when I paid for my food and to top it all off, the three male staff members talked down to and talked about the female cashier the entire time!!! If this is the service you get, everyone should avoid this place! I’m totally over them.More

Based on past visits, as this used to be one of my favorite choices for lunch, it seems like Wedgies is on a decline. The "Sand" wedgie that I usually get was pretty bland and skimpy on the tuna filling. It was so bland, that...I even wondered if they started added filler to the tuna. The bacon, which used to be thick and crispy, was barely there, and, the cheese was so thin it wasn't even part of the taste mix. To add to the disappointment, they "ran out" of their potato salad and I had to settle for a bag of chips. I'm thinking poor management that would allow such a popular side as their potato salad to be depleted on a Tuesday at peak lunch hour. I may give it another chance before I dismiss Wedgies as another victim of compromising quality for profit and take it off my list for visits and recommendations.More

Dear Jacamojoe, I'm sorry your experience was not good on Tuesday. Our tuna salad recipe and portion size with the bacon is the same as it has been for the last 20 years so I'm as disappointed as you that your sandwich was "bland and...More

As we are always out running errands around Pinehurst we love to stop in at Wedgies for lunch. The options for sandwiches here are fantastic. From classics to not so common sandwiches. They make them fresh to order. We like everything we have tried and...still try new ones. Chips or potato salad are a side option. I seem to recall seeing cookies too. Try a different sandwich shop like Wedgies!More

So many people have told us what a good sandwich this is. We finally stopped in for lunch. Many options up on the boards. I went with ham and Swiss with lettuce, tomato and mayo, called 60 degree wedge. On whole wheat. It is a...toasted pita sandwich, panini like. Loved that I could get just half a sandwich. The proprietors were very friendly. Knew many or their customers.More

I have been ordering take out here for a while but decided to stop in and order take out instead of doing it online. Every eatery in Moore County should come in Wedgies and see what good customer service is all about. The young man...taking orders had something positive to say to everyone that came thru the line whether it was, “how is your day going”, “haven’t seen you in a while, welcome back” to simply “we appreciate your business”. Oh, and by the way, the sandwiches are yummy made on this thick, chewy pita bread with fresh ingredients. Southern Pines is lucky to have this place to eat at.More

Wedgies serves warm sandwiches on a unique crispy pizza-like bread. Our favorites is the "Real Italian" but there are many great options. You either get a 1/2 wedgie or a whole wedgie. I think the 1/2 wedgie is fine, but if you are really famished,...go with the whole. You don't feel carb-overloaded with this bread like you do with a lot of big sub sandwich rolls. Expect a short wait to order, and a short wait for your meal, but it is worth it.More

Thanks for the great review Jeff. If you like the Real Italian, you may want to try the "Pinky", it's got even more kick.

Chicken salad can be a dicey order when you’ve never been to a place before. But they advertise fresh and store-made so I gave it a try. It was excellent! As others have said, the sandwich was a bit small. I was there just about...noon on a work day and there was only a short wait with plenty of seats available. Next time I will order online and just pick it up, as there were a number of other mini items I’d like to try.More
