My wife and I have visited many time and always enjoy it. It is vintage 40's and 50's Shelby, and serves really good barbecue.

Good BBQ. Service was very fast. If not sure on which type of BBQ you want the staff will provide a small selection of the three types of cut.

When you first go into Bridges BBQ Lodge you'll feel like you've stepped back into the 1950's. Green leather booths, stools at a counter, and tables just like the ones you'd find in an old diner. I've been eating here since I was a kid and it hasn't changed a bit. It's always clean, the staff is friendly, and it... More

A trip to Shelby deserves a stop at Red Bridges BBQ Lodge. They cook the pork all night long so it's fresh cooked and chopped to order. Don't forget the hush puppies and homemade sauce! Also if you like your tea SWEET, you are in luck. Family owned and operated!

Forget fancy. This is an eatery, and a decent one at that. Service was as prompt and as friendly as I would have liked it to be. Excellent barbecue, good hush puppies, good red cole slaw. Dining room looks like it hasn't been updated since the Eisenhower Administration, and that's OK, because one doesn't go to Bridges for the ambiance.... More

Stopped here because we have heard so much about it. Pretty good bbq. The sweet tea was awesome, but VERY sweet. Kinda like a sugar IV. I loved it, but wife not so much. The green beans are cooked in sugar which is something I've never experienced. Interesting taste. The red slaw is pretty good and as expected. Liked the... More

This kind of BBQ is not my favorite but it's not bad food by any means. The meat had good smoke flavor giving it interest. The seasonings and sauce are a little sweet for me but I can see why it is an iconic restaurant. The staff worked hard to make sure my needs were met. I enjoyed the place... More

Okay, the decor is dated but, Bridge's is where most of Shelby got their first taste of BBQ. The hush puppies are to die for & the BBQ is good however, the restaurant was never meant to hold the number of customers it now does. So, when folks complain about space they forget it's crowded because it's good. If the... More
