Red Bridges is located right off the major highway in Shelby, and their big sign ensures you can't miss it. They are very popular, so we went in the late afternoon. The atmosphere and menu are typical of small town NC BBQ restaurants, and the taste of the food is terrific! Prices are good, too. All in all, a great... More

Got to see all the action sitting at the counter (there was also a random bag of pork rinds circulating which was nice to have while waiting for my supper). Super busy place with take-out/pick-up/eat-in. Portions were good size and super friendly staff.

While working in the area I decided to stop by for dinner after reading all of the good reviews on TripAdvisor. If you pull up to a place & have trouble finding a place to park, it's usually for a good reason! I went up to the counter & waited my turn. I was greeted by a very friendly young... More

I am from the lowcountry of SC and am not usually a fan of NC BBQ, but I am always willing to try it. We loved the sign of Bridges BBQ and decided to see how it was. A plate is 10.00 and that comes with enough food for leftovers, bbq, baked beans, fries, bbq slaw and hush puppies. The... More

Food adequate as is the service. Neither is worthy of raving. At peak times, expect to have to stand just inside the door in a pocket of other standees. After you get a table, expect to be stared at by those still waiting. It gives me that 'hurry up and finish' feeling - not a pleasant eating atmosphere. May go... More

You should go there it's has amazing bbq!!! They also have good hushpuppies. They serve soft drinks in a can and you have to pay for each can. Sweet tea is free refills.

It's all about the vinegar as the sauce is super vinegar based and the slaw has lots of vinegar. The menu is limited and includes no ribs or brisket. The locals luv the place, maybe because there are not a lot of great choices in the area. Overall a great vibe, good service and ok BBQ.

Meat itself was good, but the sauce on top seemed like almost pure vinegar. The coleslaw was also made with the vinegar sauce which made it kind of a rusty color and terrible tasting. My husband and I had to stop and get a piece of candy afterwards just to get the vinegar taste out of our mouths! On a... More
