We flew in from Nj to take our mother out for her 85th birthday. We were a party of 12. Our waitress Naomi was excellent as was the young woman who bussed the table. Our only complaint was the hostess (a blonde woman with tattoos)...who was very rude. When my sister asked her if she would ask for wine for my mother and dad she rudely stated we would have to wait although we weren’t in a rush. While taking a family picture she yelled that she needed to seat someone and we had to move. The picture took just a moment and the other patrons were not bothered. She made a lovely evening stressful. Naomi is a pro and I would still recommend her and the restaurant in spite of the hostessMore
If you are a true fanatic about your Italian cuisine; or your in search of a restaurant that the entire family can unwind and enjoy after a great day at the beach; or just looking for that one spot to enjoy a quick but fulfilling...lunch with friends or co-workers; Angelo's will certainly check all those boxes.
We had family down from Virginia who wanted a little break from 5 days of seafood. There being so many options in Shallotte, the consenus was italian. The wife and I had recently been given a tip about Angelo's from (oddly enough) a competitor in Ocean Isle Beach. So the choice was made. Man did that turn out to be a gem of an recommendation. It appears reservations are taken but we didn't know it until our arrival. Nonetheless, Naomi, who met us at the door, sat us anyway and offered to be our server. Her smile as did the other servers, really make you comfortable. The menu items immediately indicated the food was not just your boiler-plate assembly line thrown together, eat and leave restaurant. They're food was top shelf all the way. I've eaten in 4 star restaurants in Washington DC, Florida and New York, and thay have no advantage over Angelo's chef. I had Pappardelle Bolognese. The beef and pasta was perfectly prepared. The wife's steak was well seasoned and cooked. Our friends Lasagne was huge and well put together. It was all so very good. our only regret was being too full for desert. Naomi checked on us often and found time to chat briefly throughout our visit. It was the perfect dinner evening. Naomi, Thank you for a wonderful experience and Chef, I look forward to you and Bobby Flay going head to head one day. You got a shot at it in my book.More
Our waitress, Wendy met us at the door with a smile on her face! Always a treat! Customer service was spot on, food is always delicious! Their homemade mozzarella sticks ( more like a triangle) are off the hook! One of my favorites!!! Be sure...to get some of those!!! Overall a great italian experience!!More
