Lot's of folk waiting for a table, but the wait was not excessive and the food was worth the wait anyway. My only complaint was my drink order. I had been wanting a good Whiskey Sour and thought since they have a full bar I would get one with dinner. Bad choice. The absolute worst, weakest and watered down alcoholic... More

The view was good, right on the water. The wait was long but you should expect that on a Friday night in July at a good place! The food was good and the service was excellent!

My family was told to try this restaurant while on vacation. So the other night we did with mixed reviews. The atmosphere had great view but very very loud so it was hard to hear, food was average at best, I had the crab cakes but mostly breading, they forgot my soup and brought it out as we were paying... The ambiance of the restaurant is awesome - pull up boat docks, cornhole and some great picture ops with the family? but the food doesn't match up!! Firstly - the restaurant doesn't take reservations which makes it very awkward when traveling with a large group of family. Secondly - when arriving early just so we could get a table waitresses... Been here multiple time. Not a huge fan of fried food and luckily this place has some great options. The stuffed flounder was grilled to perfection. The She crab soup was thick and creamy with large chucks of fresh crab. The hush puppies with cinnamon butter were awesome as was the fresh tuna. The entire family enjoyed the experience. The... The title says it all. My only complaint was our waitress was scare most of the time. I found myself asking other wait staff and what seemed to be a manager for drink refills. Other than that nice place.

I have been here several times, during off season and during the busy season. Consistently great food and service. Fresh seafood and friendly staff in a beautiful waterfront view. Don't miss this one!

We've given the restaurant two chances. The view is great but the food is awful. Surf and turf dinner sent back three times trying to get medium steak. Everyone else at table done eating by the time it came out right. Had to ask for discount on meal due to wait. Other seafood average and service slow.

In 1978, C.W Hughes, Jr., who owned a paving company, and his wife Allison, a retired nurse, bought a small grill, motel and marina previously called Gregory's. It was located at the mouth of the Shallotte River and the Intracoastal Waterway. The grill had 13 stools around a bar and a small tackle shop. It was named Hughes Marina and home of the Poor Boy Shark Tournament for 14 years. It was a popular restaurant with the locals. It became home for Jr., Allison and their 11-year-old daughter, Samantha. For many of those years they poured their hearts and souls into the restaurant and marina. Their other daughter Amy and her husband John, both teachers, moved from Georgia to help. It continued to get bigger and attract more customers. In 1992, the girls took over the business, which continued to grow until they closed in 2004. On July 30, 2009, Sam and Timmy, her fiancé, opened the doors of Inlet View, a restaurant with a new look and an elevator that can take you to breathtaking views both from the restaurant on the first floor and a panoramic view from the bar on the second floor, which is surrounded by decks. Their dream became real with the help of friends and family.
