Very accommodating staff. Family owned and operated. Wonderful seafood prepared as it should be. They make their own hush-puppies and they are worth the wait. Tuna in the wrap was cooked just right.

We visited the place with 2 God children one afternoon while visiting Holden Beach. We were told that the wait was 40 minutes. We ended up waiting 20 minutes and was sat down. The hush puppies were excellent!! We got loaded potato bites and they were great. Our plates were fried shrimp, flounder and chicken tenders. Everyone enjoyed their food... More

Stopped by for take-out. Ordered She Crab Soup (which is to die for) and a shrimp basket. I couldn't wait until I got home so I proceeded to nibble. WHAT? NO FRIES? A Shrimp Basket with no fries!!. Needless to say that I was bummed, but I'll get over it. I'll just have to look next time!

Oh no! I do so apologize. I try to remind everyone to check over to-go orders. I am glad that you liked the She Crab soup and hope that you enjoyed the shrimp basket. Next time I would check just to make sure so that will not happen again. Thank you for letting us know. Gratefully, Inlet View More

The tuna appetizer special was recommended by our server and it was delicious. Have dined here several times and the only issue is price. Great views of the inlet. They have live bands on occasion and it can get very busy in the upstairs bar.

We took a friend here Saturday evening for early supper. This restaurant does not take reservations, so to avoid a long wait due to the crowds, try to arrive by 5 p.m. I had the crab legs which were perfectly steamed and very large, full of meat. My wife had the fantail shrimp and scallops, perfectly done, lightly breaded and... More

My 15-year-old son and I arrived early on a Sunday evening (around 5:00 p.m.), and found the place absolutely packed already. The only two vacant seats were at the bar but it seems the crowd had been there for hours and both of us were very uncomfortable. We asked to wait for a table and were immediately seated on the... We had lunch here and loved the oyster sandwich. The crab cake sandwich was huge and delicious! A great view of the intercostal from the deck. Also the complimentary hush puppies were a treat!

Description
In 1978, C.W Hughes, Jr., who owned a paving company, and his wife Allison, a retired nurse, bought a small grill, motel and marina previously called Gregory's. It was located at the mouth of the Shallotte River and the Intracoastal Waterway. The grill had 13 stools around a bar and a small tackle shop. It was named Hughes Marina and home of the Poor Boy Shark Tournament for 14 years. It was a popular restaurant with the locals. It became home for Jr., Allison and their 11-year-old daughter, Samantha. For many of those years they poured their hearts and souls into the restaurant and marina. Their other daughter Amy and her husband John, both teachers, moved from Georgia to help. It continued to get bigger and attract more customers. In 1992, the girls took over the business, which continued to grow until they closed in 2004. On July 30, 2009, Sam and Timmy, her fiancé, opened the doors of Inlet View, a restaurant with a new look and an elevator that can take you to breathtaking views both from the restaurant on the first floor and a panoramic view from the bar on the second floor, which is surrounded by decks. Their dream became real with the help of friends and family.
